“Oh, my God,” Howard said, a horror in his voice as he turned and looked at Jason. “What the hell is wrong with us? We smelled like sex in front of our children, Jason. That has got to be some all-time parental low.”
Jason turned stiffly. “I thought I would be the one to crack. She was bluffing, Howard. She couldn’t prove a thing.”
“What?” Howard asked, turning from Janey, who now wore a confident smile, to Jason, who looked horrified. “How do you know?”
“Because we didn’t smell like sex. We were in shower, remember?” Jason asked.
“Actually, I did have a little too much wine last night,” Howard said. “I had forgotten.”
Howard was relieved when Jason took the lead. “So, your dad and I slept together last night. It’s what parents do. Any problem with that, guys?”
“Nope, we’re fine with it,” James said. “We discussed it when we were at the grocery store. No problem. You guys are adults.”
“We just wanted to know,” Janey said. “No big deal.”
