Jason laughed. “That’s what I was talking about. You’re falling into my trap again. Now let me pour you another.”
“You were trying to make me an alcoholic?”
“Please, you’re too much of a control freak to be an alcoholic. I was trying to get your attention. I was trying to make you jealous, and if that meant you had an extra glass of wine at a few parties while you were feeling that way, so be it.”
Howard looked at his now full glass, contemplating whether he should take a sip.
“Oh, go ahead,” Jason said. “Seriously, you’re not going to become an alcoholic.”
“So, you’re trying to get me drunk?” Howard asked, taking the tiniest of sips.
“I thought we were both trying to drink a little tonight. The kids are away. We don’t work tomorrow. We had a long day, and that was a scary snake. Bottoms up,” Jason said, taking a sizable sip off his own drink.
