“Thank you.” He stood and drew his trousers on over his long legs.

I leaned against the doorframe, dialed Silver Birch, and watched as he continued to dress.

Four more days, and then he’d be doing that in reverse, I’d get to take advantage of him, and no matter how out of control I was, he wouldn’t be able to turn me loose. 30

Beauchamp opened the door, both his eyebrows raised. “You don’t have very much time, Mr. Kipp.”

“I know, I’m sorry.” I thrust Granddad’s suit jacket and the mini backpack at him, took the garment bag containing my suit and the bag with my shoes from Hyde, and headed for the stairs. “I’ll hurry.”

“Mr. Wyndham, may I pour you a drink?”

“A diamond fizz, thanks. Kipp, there are some details I need to go over for Sunday.” He’d brought along his tablet.

“All right, Hyde.”

“The study is just that way, sir.” Beauchamp pointed him in the right direction. “I’ll fix your drink and bring it right to you.”

“Thanks very much.” Hyde disappeared through the door.
