And the slaves on Bimmo needed liberation just as much as the slaves anyplace else.

He finished his drink, not rushing through the rare treat of whiskey but not dithering either. He didn’t want to be on Kindara any longer than necessary. Then he and his smelly companion left the bar through a back door and headed out to the port.

Genthry’s heart sped up as they strode toward the docks. This was the weakest point in his plan. Hiding on Kindara had been difficult, but he knew how to avoid notice and escape slavecatchers. He knew how to work local networks to find what he needed. Getting off-planet was always the worst part. He had no way to know how many soldiers had been sent to keep watch on the docks, and since most worlds had only one means of entry and exit to the planet, it was easy for the authorities to make it a choke point.

So much depended on others here, and Genthry hadn’t ever had much luck when he had to depend on other people.
