Chapitre 8: Green lens
The next morning Roan woke inside the dark cave. He did not use fire or something bright to make his stay stand out.
He checked his location, it was not close to any other student.Even If they happen to be nearby, they would not dare rush in the mountain full of beasts.
He took peek out of cave and did not find any beast roaming nearby. He quickly but sneakily moved out of the cave and distanced himself from it.
Beast hordes in the mountain could only be hunted by teams or an assassin. For him now, only the solo beasts in forest would do.
Yesterday when he killed the illusion snake he did not get to use the beast soul. Now that he was back to hunting he used the beast soul.
The beast soul normally turns in armament or an object for use but some of the unique beast souls transfer their ability through their beast soul.
The ability could be their major ability or the one the beast did not even use. It's all down to probability.
Beast souls with ability turns into a skill crystal when the beast soul is provided with the beast crystal.
A strange mutation occurs between the crystal and soul, then the beast crystal transforms into a skill crystal.
The skill crystal can be directly refined like beast crystal, instead of Energy the skill will be transferred. If the skill is practiced hard, the level might even go up.
His beast soul turn into a lens. He did not have to use his hands to put the lens in his eyes.
The lens magically appeared on his eyes. He did have some speculation of what this beast soul could do.
He checked his surroundings and soon found an ant colony. The ants looked like normal insect. When he sensed them, the result surprised him.
The ant colony were no normal insects, all of them were basic tier beasts. They did not look all that powerful but still he maintained his vigilance.
He used his lens beast soul and looked at the colony. Soon, the ants near their caves all started acting drunk.
He confirmed his theory, the lens had the ability to create illusion. He put a lot more concentration into the lens.
The ants stopped moving themselves. They stood where they were not moving a step. The scene looked like a trained colony of ant.
He made the ants fight each other with a thought. The beasts started fighting, the cave they made for themselves in stone started cracking.
The ant colony had more than hundred basic tier beasts all of them fighting each other. It looked as if all of them together could even wreck a concrete building.
He made them stop fighting. He commanded a single ant to come out. The ant came out and used its claws to smash its head and kill itself.

He wanted to know if they will resist their death when under illusion. The results surprised him, he thought hunting the mountain full of beasts would not pose that much difficulty.
"I gained 5 exp through kill. I did not know I could gain exp points from killing a beast." he said in surprise
"I thought only beast crystal gives you exp points."
"There is a lot to know of this system. I do not know if it will give more points of exp every time I kill a stone ant."
With that thought he commanded another stone ant beast to come and kill itself. The ant died same way using its claws.
A new notification popped up again.

He thought even among the main four there is no such broken ability. He did not stop and ordered the colony to kill themselves one by one.
The ants lined up in a straight single line. The first ant in the line walked ahead, extended its claws and smashed itself to death.
The suicide kept going for a while. After ten suicides no more notification about exp increase came up.
He commanded a few more ants to suicide but to no avail the exp points did not increase.
Roan sighed, he knew the bloodline ability of his is already over powered.
If ten is the limit then it is more than enough for him.
Refining the beast crystal alone could gain him lots of exp points.
Bloodline ability reveals itself slowly with the growth of user. Before that he could only do all sort of tests and check for other functions himself.
He checked his status menu to look at required exp points for level up.

He only needed 30 exp points for him to level up again.
"I need to kill six basic tier beast or one intermediate tier. If I go for the metal bear then the chances of killing it is not that high." he murmured to himself.
"Bear cub would be an easy prey but I already saw the illusion snake's demise. Without killing the bear that's not a choice."
"Those giant birds on the peak were intermediate tier but I don't know if an insect type beast can go against bird type. I will have to explore other five caves or the forest."
He went for options and chose the one that is most likely to succeed.
"The problem is how do I take the whole colony to cave. I cannot just wait for them to slowly follow me"
He thought of ways to carry them to cave. The only option he could think of was place them in his crystal storage bag.
He had one crystal in his bag from yesterday. When he killed the illusion snake, he took the beast's crystal but did not get the chance to refine it.
"I cannot actually refine a crystal out here in open now but going back to the cave is also a waste of time."
Leaving the basic tier beast with crystal was not an option.
He looked around for a place to refine the crystal. It was not that he could not think of any other method to transport the beasts to the cave.
But he wanted to know the result of refining a crystal on his exp points.
He found a giant tree nearby. He made all the ants wait for him in their stone caves. He did not know whether the lens will lose its effect when he refined the beast crystal.
It was better to leave them in their homes. With his last experience of absorbing the fire beast crystal he knew the system could refine it in seconds.
But he could not risk it all on the system, he looked around for any hidden beasts then vigilantly tried to refine the crystal.
When he tried running his sutra to refine crystal, a notification popped up. Seeing the notification made him smile.

He could not confirm it earlier but now that he tried it for second time, he felt relief that he would not have to concentrate and slowly refine crystal.
He chose accept, the beast crystal in his hand vanished then a series of notification popped up.

He opened the status menu and looked at his system screen.

He looked at the new information. System showed his level as 2. He got five stats points on level up.
"Five stat points per level is is the limit I guess. The requirements of EXP for level up has gone two and half times of previous level."
He could not get any more information from the system so he decided on how to distribute the stats.
"From what I know, if I reach twenty in any of my stats then I will achieve a breakthrough and reach Rank E."
"Leveling up in just five days is too eye-catching. it's best if I put more stats in energy and save stats for later."
"Put 1 stat in Strength, 1 in Agility and 3 in Energy" he said in his mind.

"If I happen to level up two more times I will achieve max stats of rank F and overall medium stats of rank E"
He went to the rock where the ant colony lived. He saw that the illusion was still in effect.
It took him a little more than five minutes but the beast were still under illusion. He thought if the lens is unequipped the affect will be worn off.
He put the lens again and ordered the ants to move in his bag. The ant colony moved in his bag. The number of ants were between 150 and 200.
He now had the idea to bring the ants to his cave and do sneak attacks on intermediate tier beast one by one.
