Chapitre 14: Chapter 014- Breakthrough
"What is it?" The phoenix spirit asked.
"Would you be willing to become my familiar?" Ling yun asked carefully hoping that she wouldn't reject.
The Phoenix spirit didn't rebuke or insult him at the proposal. Instead she thought,
*He does have the qualification to become my master. If I agree with him, I will not only be able to leave this boring place but also regain the strength my original self once had. So, what should I do?*
The Phoenix spirit stayed quite for several minutes before finally speaking, "I can be your familiar. But I have a condition."
"Let's hear it first." Ling yun said as he sighed in relief. As long as the condition isn't too far-fetched, he is ready to agree to her condition.
"It's not that difficult for you to accomplish. I just want you to promise me that you will not force me to do anything that goes against my moral." The phoenix spirit said.
"Ok, I promise. Then from now on, you will be one of my familiar."
"Yes, master." The phoenix spirit's voice didn't even flinch as she called him with honorifics.
Even though, the phoenix spirit is a part of primordial being, she is after all a beast. And like every beast, she also has a nature of submitting to someone who is more powerful than her.
Though Ling yun's cultivation isn't that powerful, his background is powerful enough for her to become his familiar willingly.

Ling yun was happy with the development of the things.
Even though revealing his origin might look stupid to some, it was a necessary step to make the phoenix spirit submit. After all, the phoenix spirit never would have submitted to him if she only thought of him as a mortal being.
Incase the phoenix spirit refused to submit even after knowing his origin, he would have then destroyed the cave entrance to not let anyone else come to this inheritance ground. When in the future, he manages to become strong enough, he would have come back to kill her in order to not leave any loose ends.
As for the information about his origin being leaked, it was totally impossible as the phoenix would have lived in isolation and nobody would have visited her either.
As further precaution, Ling yun would have left some of his newly created formations in order not to let the phoenix spirit contact the outside world with some other means.

"I am going to leave a mark on your soul, so don't resist."
Ling yun closed his eyes and concentrated his soul energy as it left a mark on the Phoenix spirit's soul.
The moment Ling yun did so, a magical thing happened. The Phoenix spirit's cultivation strated to get sucked by Ling yun as he started to get stronger and stronger.

Ling yun's cultivation got stronger and stronger as it finally stopped after he broke through to the 1st level of Emperor profound realm.
Same thing happened to the phoenix spirit but in reverse. Her cultivation grew weaker and weaker until she reached the 1st level of Emperor profound realm as well.
Ling yun became happy and laughed out loud seeing his cultivation skyrocketing. On the other hand, the phoenix spirit could only cry internally at this injustice.
When Ling yun finally stopped his celebration, he looked at the phoenix spirit and said, "Sorry about that. It is just a side effect of creating a soul contract. As my familiar, you will not be able to become stronger than me."
Hearing this the phoenix spirit became a little grumpy about it, so Ling yun quickly changed the topic and said, "So, what should I call you now? Do you have any name?"
"No, I don't. Maybe you could give me one?"
"Hmm..let's see...From now on, you will be called Feng Huang." Ling yun thought for a while before coming up with her name.
"Feng Huang, huh! I like it."
"Now can I get the phoenix bloods?" Ling yun asked in a eager tone as he is really looking forward to strengthen his profound veins and physique.
"Here is all the bloods that I have." Feng Huang gave all the bloods that she had in her possession.
Though Ling yun was disappointed seeing only 7 drops of phoenix blood. So he asked, "Why so little?"
[AN:I don't remember if the total number of phoenix blood was mentioned in the canon or not, so I just made up the number.]
"Sigh! I had more Phoenix blood in my possession. But the last time I was attacked by the other Phoenix spirit, she took away most of it." Feng Huang said in a aggrieved tone of voice as she reminisced about her past.
"Oh, so that's the case! I can take you to her for revenge if you want."
"I would really love to teach that bitch a lesson. But for that, I have to get stronger again first." She looked at Ling yun with blame as she said her last sentence.
"Cough...Cough...I am sure that a primordial entity such as yourself will be able to get you strength back in a short period of time."
"Hmph!"

Ling took a drop of phoenix blood and gulped it down as he started to guide it according to the technique given by the angel.
Time slowly passed. Few hours later, Ling yun's body finally started to show some changes.
Internally, his profound veins started to become deep shed of red. With the strengthening of the profound veins, his understanding of the fire law started to increase as well.
So, Ling yun quickly took out the fire seed and examined it. He became astonished as he found out that he can now understand all the complexities behind it. He can even create another one if he wants to.
*Does this mean I am immune to fire from now on!? It sure is a surprise.* Ling yun couldn't conceal his happiness as he found out that he will be able to become immune to all elements as long as he can find the blood of such divine beasts.
Normal profound beast's blood wouldn't work as their own understanding of the respective elements isn't that great.
Besides immunity of fire, Ling yun doesn't need to learn any kimd of fire based attack technique. Unlike yun che, Ling yun's understanding of Fire Law is innate.
As such, any kind attack using fire would become a technique itself.
Aside from that, Ling yun's outer appearance has changed a little as well. His hair color has a slightly red hue in it now.
His other parts of the body didn't change much except that he now feels a lot stronger physically than before.

After checking his own body, Ling yun now decided to check if his blood has the same effect as the phoenix.
So, he called out Xia qingyue and asked her to drink a drop of his blood. At this odd request, Xia qingyue looked weirdly at him.
Seeing her expression, he quickly explained to her why she needed to drink it as he doesn't want to make her think of him as some kind of weirdo.
After listening Ling yun's explanation, Xia qingyue finally drank the drop of blood and started to refine it.

While Xia qingyue was refining the blood, Ling yun looked at Feng Huang and said, "My soul has a inner dimension in it. How about you check it out since you will be living in there from now on."
Feng Huang nodded and directly entered his soul. After a few minutes, she came out said, "The place is really big. I can't even see the end to it. But can you decorate it a bit? It is too bland."
"Okay." Ling nodded as he started to change a part of his inner dimension according to Feng Huang's wishes.
