The people continued to cry and more residents were beginning to arrive at Erhi benson's residence.
Nigo and zara just stood there without saying a word, they had already cried till the point when their eyes were sore so they couldn't cry anymore! Granny chi looked at them from the side, she wanted to heal nigo's injuries but he had rejected it; saying he had to make sure Er hi benson is okay by the time they leave. He was the cause of Ejiro's death so how could he be disturbed by his own wellbeing when Erhi benson was still in a critical mental state
"It's about time you left, go and treat your injuries" Erhi benson said amidst tears
"About the burial........" Nigo stopped talking, he felt like he had said what was forbidden, why did he ask such a heart wrecking question to a man who just lost his son?
"Don't worry about that, we the residents of this area will handle it" A denizen of the area said
"Yes! We will handle it so don't bother yourself, you have tried by bringing him home" another person said in agreement
"We will handle it and make sure it is the most grand burial in the history of this place"
Everyone present continued chorused in agreement
"When it is time for his burial I will make sure to inform you so you can get going now" Erhi Benson said in a pleading tone
Granny chi who had been quiet all this while finally spoke up "it's already night so we have to start treating your injuries, let's head home please"
Nigo didn't move from where he stood he had no intention of going for treatment, it was like a for of atonement for the death of Ejiro
He took out the box where the star purifying flame was and opened it. The moment he opened it a purifying aura assured everyone present, even granny chi was stunned, she wondered how they had obtained it.
"Th....... That's" some one said, they had finally gone a clearer picture on how Ejiro died.
" when he died he gave this to me but I don't want to have it with me" nigo said handing it over to Erhi Benson
"If he gave it to you who am I to collect it?" Erhi Benson said as he rejected it
"Besides, I don't have any use for it in the first place and you need it more than anyone"
"So take it as his parting gift and honour his wish, if he wants you to gain strength then fulfill it. Now take it and leave" Erhi Benson finally stopped
The people present would usually be interested in such a useful research material but now they couldn't care less about such a thing, they all in a deep mourning state.
Zara turned to look at him, her face was pale when he saw her face again after hours of their stay in the neighbourhood "Nigo, let's go" she said in a weak voice, all her strength and vigor were all gone now.
Nigo couldn't watch her stay in such a condition because of him, he knew that if he continued staying there she would stay there along with him so he bowed to Erhi Benson and said "please accept my apology, I would be going now, goodbye"
He turned round to face granny chi and said with a voice void of emotion "let's go"
She only gave a light nod and the trio began to depart from the midst of the crowd that had gathered, as nigo took five steps away from his original spot he fell forward with his face to the ground
"!!"
Granny chi and everyone present were caught off guard, it was to be expected that he should have passed out soon but he had shocked them all and didn't even show any sign off exhaustion.
Before his body could decend completely to the ground, granny chi had already caught him with utility energy and started healing his injuries on the spot.
She carried zara and they departed from the neighbourhood.
Watching their departing silhouette, Erhi sighed and said to himself "Don't worry my dear family after I'm done here, I'll come to meet you on the other side"
Guardian's Villa
Hours passed after they had gotten back from Ejiro's house.
Granny chi was already done healing nigo wounds to the point where there were no traces of them anymore but he was still unconscious.
She paced about before his body which was lying on the bed in confusion. She didn't ask zara the full details of the events so she didn't know how he sustained those injuries.
There was no residual aura in his body so that wasn't the case either, she looked at his hand that was clutched round the box that contained the purifying star flame despite his being unconscious.
He held the box to his chest when he was about to collapse to the ground and had not let gone since then till now.
She observed his handsome face for the umpteenth time but there was no abnormality, she pondered: what exactly had happened to him.
Suddenly a white light began to glow around his body at the same time the luminosity of the purifying star flame increased and light began to radiate from the box that lay on nigo's chest, it was as though they were both in resonance.
"!!" Granny chi was stunned by the sight before her.
"This......... could this be" she said and moved closer to observe the light around nigo's body when nigo suddenly jerked up from his slumber.
Just as he woke up the white light around his body disappeared instantly, same thing happened to the light blue light glowing from the box.
Nigo looked at the dazed granny chi who was staring at him
"How long have I been out" he asked
Granny chi noticing her own abnormal behaviour composed herself and retracted her gaze " For about twelve hours" she said in response
She wondered to herself : what in the world was that just now, was It due to the star meteorite flame or some other reason.
She had seen a number of experts use it in front of her before and no white light had appeared around them, what usually happens to is a resonating blue light similar to that of the star meteorite flame but nigo just had a white light. What was going on?
Nigo noticed the absent minded granny chi and said "Is anything the matter?"
Granny chi came back to herself and smiled at him "nothing is wrong, I was wondering how, I couldn't sense the star meteorites that were at your school today, it's really discomforting"
"Oh that? Today was a very strange day one I would want to forget but can't because the death of Ejiro" Nigo said as he stared at the morning sun outside the house.
Granny chi looked at him with a face filled with surprise, it is because she expected nigo to be crying the moment he wakes up from his sleep but he was unusually calm and tranquil.
She asked "How are you feeling right now"
"I'm fine" he said in a calm tone
"Do you feel strange in any way"
"No, I don't"
"Nothing at all?"
"Nothing" Nigo said as he turned to look at her he wasn't surprised because granny chi had always been that way when it came to his wellbeing
"Alright if you say so" she said and started heading outside the room.
"If you need anything call me and don't over think things alright?" She said to him and stepped out of the room
"Okay" Nigo said in response
Granny chi closed the door of the room and thought to herself, did all this things happen because of that strange star meteorites from yesterday? And he didn't have any of those his strange dreams that he usually has. This has to be a coincidence, it has to be...... but what if it isn't?
She waved the thoughts from her mind and headed towards the kitchen to make food for herself and nigo. she didn't want to jump to conclusions, she had to study his behaviour to make sure.
...........................................................
For the past fifteen days nigo had been at home without going to school.
He spent everyday either lying in bed hugging the box or lying on the floor hugging the box. He sometimes sat at the corner of his room thinking, he was depressed.
Granny chi on the other hand had never noticed any abnormality in nigo's either so she came to conclude that it was due to the star meteorite the origin of the flames that had a different reaction.
Nigo was seated on the bed in his room clad in his pyjamas, his face was slightly pale which showed he had managed to recover to an extent from Ejiro's death.
The door was opened and granny chi walked him she was wearing her usual clothes, she looked at nigo with a smile on her face "seems like you have recovered considerably from the mental weight of....." she paused and didn't continued to avoid reminding nigo of Ejiro's death
"Good morning granny chi" Nigo greeted her with a slight bow of his head
"Good morning" she replied
"I'll be returning to school tomorrow" Nigo said with a calm look on his face
"Oh, you want to return to school? That's great!" Sh e said in a happy voice, she thought he won't want to return to the place where Ejiro had died.
"Has zara come by since then?" He asked
"No, she hasn't.....but why do you ask?"
"I wanted to know how she's doing"
""I need to see her so I'll go to school and if she isn't there, I'll find out where she leaves and go to see her" no go said with determination, he really wondered how she was faring.
"If that's the case then you would indeed need to go to school" granny chi said then she furrowed her brows and then turned to nigo
"About the Flame from the star meteorite, when do you plan to use it to awaken your core?" She said with a probing look "if you need to I can help you use it"
"I'm not using it" Nigo said
"Why is that" She asked
"I'm going to keep it till I die to continue remembering him" nigo explained
"But we both know the reason he got that flame was to help you awaken your core and the sooner the better. He is not around to protect you anymore so you refusing to use it is a gains his will"
"No! when he gave it to me he didn't say anything on what to do with it, so it isn't going against his will" nigo retorted
Granny chi sighed deeply before saying "fine, you are they one who chooses what to do with it. I just hope you won't make a decision that would affect those that are close to you negatively" she wasn't trying to convince him anymore.
"When is dad returning?" Nigo asked
"!!" Granny chi was taken aback by the sudden question of nigo. It is because knowing his father's duties he hardly expected him to be able to return home.
"I don't know" she replied
"Have the date be fixed yet?" He asked
Granny chi knowing what he was refering to said "A message was sent to me by Mr Erhi last night, he said the burial would be taking place in two days time" she paused before she continued "I wonder why they waited this long to lay him to rest"
Nigo looked out side and said "Two days huh, I wonder if dad would be able to make it?"
He picked the box from his side and held it in front of himself.
