Chapitre 20: Kathleen Moore
'Apart from the things my father said, the rest of the things the Family did, I just read in books, but I was only reading the books in which he did something 'Bad', in case we had enmity with some race, like the Arie Family and the Devils, but to have found nothing of them deceiving others, means they probably thought what they did was right, dragging innocent people into petty vendettas and other tsk stuff.'
"Well, then let's go back To Maschenny, since it's useless to stay here any longer."
Shrugging his shoulders, he turns his head to Maschenny who was still shocked, nodding his head with a slightly sad look, Maschenny follows behind him until they hear a voice.
"Wait, WAIT, you're from the Khun Family, right? Are you looking for a Light carrier to help you? So there's one right here, depending on the salary you pay me, I'll be your Light Carrier."
Turning their heads they saw there, a girl of apparently 16 years, she had small breasts, long black hair that came close to her waist, a figure a little slender, her face was quite symmetrical, simplifying she was beautiful.
'Does she want to be our Lightcarrier even when no one else wants to? Well, it's not like I have a better choice.'
"Wouldn't it be better if we introduce ourselves first? I don't even know who you would be at first."
He speaks to her, Maschenny also stopped while looking at her, the girl tilts her head a little as she bends slightly and says.
"I am sorry for my lack of education, I am Kathleen Moore, I came to the Tower right after doing the sanctification, I am from the United States and seek to work for one of the 10 Great Families of Saints."
'Sanctification, is that what they call the process of making someone ordinary, or someone who used some other form of energy, be able to use shinsoo, just like any member of the Great Families, but soon after doing the Sanctification she came to the Tower? The Tower was re-opened two years ago, in order to get to this Floor in a mere 2 years, you have to have talent at least what was in the books.'
"My name is Khun Eduan, and this one next to me is called Khun Maschenny and she is my bride."
Eduan introduced him and Maschenny politely, Maschenny just nodded, she never gives much attention to someone she just met.
"But why would you be interested in working with us when virtually all Lightbearers do not desire?"
Eduan asked with a touch of doubt in her voice, Kathleen puts a smile on her face while answering.
"For me, money is money, as long as you have enough money, the risks are always worth it. Furthermore it would be an honor to work with one of the 10 Great Monsters, and heir to the Khun Family."
'Money is money huh, that line sounds like those who steal from criminals, no matter if money is dirty or not, it's still money or something.'
Thinking a little, Eduan decides while asking something else.
"How many Headlights can you control? It's no use you wanting to join us if you can only use 1 Headlights."
Headlights, were used in Tower Of God by Light Carriers, they were made of a mineral called 'Suspendium', however here that there is no Suspendium, they are made of pure shinsoo embedded in different types of minerals, depending on the mineral it has more effect.
"I can control a total of 3 headlights at the same time, so you don't have to worry about that."
She puts her hand on her chest and speaks with a pride in her voice, but because of her extremely flat breasts, it was quite funny this, pulling a laugh from Maschenny. Kathleen seeing this gets a little irritated but thinks quietly.
'Hey, I want to see if you can laugh like that later'
Eduan puts his hand on his chin when thinking about it more deeply, nodding his head, he removes his hand from Maschenny's, and pulls out a small white card, pointing the card at her, he speaks.
"Show me your GV, I'll be paying now, after that show us the best places for you to go on this floor."
He talks to her, she takes something out of her pocket, like a pen, she pushes a button when a holographic screen formed from the pen, picking up the card, Eduan passes on the holographic screen, debiting money into her account.

"All right, I'll see how much you've paid, and if it's all right we can go explore the and-"
With wide eyes, she checks the number a second time.
'T-this, h-how many zeros do you have here?'
"H-hehe, so let's go is there somewhere you guys wish to go first?"
She asks in a slightly shaky voice, she asks, Maschenny seeing her so once again gave a laugh, Eduan crossed his arms pondering, after thinking a little he turns to Maschenny and nods his head.
"Let's go to a snack bar or something, today is our first day on the 20th Floor."
"Okay, so follow me, I know a snack bar nearby that's relatively famous and has very tasty desserts."
Kathleen takes the lead with a smile on her face, Eduan and Maschenny give their hands once more, and Maschenny turns to him conveying a message through his eyes.
'Is it okay to follow her? You know, she's quite suspicion.'
Eduan responds to his gaze with a look of his own.
'She's our only choice, it's practically mandatory to have a Light Carrier on the team, so we'll have to go with her.'
Maschenny nods, they quickly arrive at the Diner. If they sit down they ask for something, Eduan asks for a Milksheyk of Grape, and Maschenny asks the same as him. As they were taking Eduan, he turns to Kathleen and asks calmly.
"Why are you on this floor? I don't understand why you stay in this place to rent, anyway you don't just have 400 years to climb the Tower or you'll be thrown away?"
"We stayed on this floor to accumulate money, and buy new Lighthouses, unlike the 10 Great Families that have an absurd talent and easily earn money on the floors, we who were recruited externally do not have this talent of yours, nor the money, so we stay on that floor until we raise enough money, or find someone who sees our talent and calls us to your team."
She explained calmly while taking her chocolate Milksheyk, listening to what she said Eduan nodded, just as she said in the 10 Great Families there are many differentiated and talented people, it is not very uncommon to have even half-devils born from the 10 Great Families, however it is extremely rare to have one of them in the main branch.
Thinking a little Eduan exchanged some looks with Maschenny silently.
'What do you think? Should we recruit her?'
'I don't know, although she's a bit suspicion, I don't think she lied about what she said.'
'Well, it would be better to have it, it is not known if there will be another Light Carrier who wants to join us.'
'Okay, you decide.'
After the exchange of glances, Eduan turns to Kathleen and asks.
"How would you like to team up with us? We will pay your expenses and a salary, in addition to the headlights and other forms of strengthening you desire."
"Really? Then I will join you, thank you so much for the opportunity."
She responds with shining eyes, with a genuinely happy smile, Eduan nods his head and asks Maschenny.
"We just need to find two more, and climb this floor, but it would be difficult to find other members, we don't need strong, since we can pass this floor quietly, we just need someone who is willing to pass."
"You don't have to look, there are a lot of people looking for teams to join, it's very easy to find someone, let me see here a little bit."
Flash
A Faról appears as she picks up a keyboard and mouse and searches by moving her fingers at a frightening speed.
"Here, I found two people looking for a team to join, they are relatively weak and are looking for some team that accepts them."
She announces with a smile on her face, Eduan and Maschenny are a little shocked by the ease of finding limbs while Eduan thinks.
'I didn't make the wrong choice to recruit her, a Light Carrier is really very helpful, now I see why family members always used them in their plans.'
