The next day was the Hall of Fame. The day Violet looked forward to most. After all her protesting about going, she was really excited to get to dress up and feel herself again. She spent most of the day preparing for the gala event and spent more time than she had in her life getting ready, wanting everything to be perfect. 

Brody had taken Daxton to lunch at the request of his sister to ease tensions between them. He spent most of the time moving his food around the plate instead of eating. 

"What's up, bro. You've been playing with your food since the server brought it, and you've barely said two words since we sat down." Daxton ate his food. "I know you don't hate me that much."

"Oh, no." Brody let out a big breath. "Dax, the truth is, I don't hate you. I'm just very protective of my sisters."

"I get that. So… hot assistant troubles?" he asked with a laugh. 

Brody broke a coy smile, lettering out a chuckle, shaking, and shook his head yes.
