Chapitre 38: Fight The Night Saber Wolves
There were at least 8 the night saber there. Although they were surrounded and the night saber wolves numbers were greater than them, they might have a small chance to win against them.
Both Leon and David fought with the night saber wolves before too. In the past, the night saber wolves went out to the outer part of the forest to hunt down easy and weak prey from time to time which was bad for the village.
Leon and David exterminated them with only a couple of injuries, however, they were always been appeared in the pack of 3 to 4, and not this many.
The night saber wolves reproduce many times faster than humans. They could add 15 to 25 babies in just every 3 months in their packs.
The babies became adults in another 3 or 4 months and could join the hunt with others. They were not the most fearful creature in the forest but their hunting skills in packs had made them a hunter of many fearful creatures.
David's team was somewhat lucky that this group of the night fang wolves only had 8 young members and none of them was experienced enough to lead the pack in good coordination. They were all immature and full of confidence.
Seeing their stature David knew they had just recently turned adult, with their slim and small body size they looked exactly like normal wolves. The only difference was their pitch-black fur and long knife-like canine teeth. He could handle at least two of the night saber wolf and kill them.
"Leon, I think, I can handle at least two of them how about you?" David said.
"Same, I can also handle at least two of them, any more than that will put me in a tough situation," Leon said.
"Hehe, I know but, a desperate situation needs a tough decision. you have to deal with at least three of them and I will handle the other three and then.." David said.
"Leave the other two to me. Although I'm not good with Swords like you two, I'm daily practicing with swords and honing my skills to improve myself. I'll try not to hold you two back." Sam cut off David before he could finish his sentence, and said. He took his stance to fight the night saber wolf.
David already told Galena to stand behind a few meters from them so she would not get mixed in the fight between them. She was a healer, who's job was to support the team with healing magic because of that she didn't have any proper weapon to fight.
She only had a dagger to protect herself from monsters in an emergency. Trahso also never fought with the monster so he was also put with Galena to protect her if any of the night saber wolves managed to pass through them
"Do you think I'm a fool like you guys? Our enemy is not one or two but a whole pack of monsters. There's no way you all can win against them. I have to out of here when I get the chance. I'll use them as bait for my escape." Trahso thought in his mind and without anyone noticing he quietly sneaked out of there.
All the night fang wolves dashed towards them and attack them attacked them with their claws. David and Leon swung their sword horizontally and cut two of the night saber wolf in two, While Sam only managed to leave a small cut on its body. But another wolf bit his hand and injured him, he punched him in the face and freed himself from his jaw.
David and Leon also got some shallow scratches from their sharp claws but the injuries were not very serious.
The remaining night saber wolves quickly fall back and took a defensive stance. The thought that the sword cut their pack members in two in a second took them completely off guard. Before meeting with humans they only hunted monsters and animals who used only jaws, fangs, and hands as a weapon the sword was completely new to them.
David look around to see how everyone's doing, Leon was still kicking with only without any major problem but he couldn't say the same for sam. He was not good at fighting, his movements were dull but after him and Leon, he was the strongest and most hard working in the entire village. David Saw the odds were against him in the two to one fight and if he did not get any help right now he might get injured.
David decided to send Trahso to help Sam, he could get some experience fighting with the night saber wolves. After all, the main reason why Trahso came to this forest was to fight with the monster and could earn some merits to improve his image.
"Trahso help sam… Trahso?" David didn't get an answer when he called him.
But he did not give me an answer when I called his name so I turn back to see him. Darryl was not there, he was missing from his position.
"Galena where is Trahso?" Galena was still there so he asked her.
"What are saying he is standing beside me… Huh? Where is he? I'm sure He was by my side just a moment ago? Where'd he disappear?" She replied to him with a confused face.
