Chapitre 32: Preparation
Yesterday three Orcs monsters tried to sneak into the quartz village, David managed to get rid of them but one of them was able to escape. David also got life-threatening injuries in the fight and could have died last night, however, he survived thanks to his wife Catherine, Galena(the healer), and his son (protagonist).
Tears were coming nonstop from Catherine's eyes, everyone presents there at that moment could feel her pain, Catherine had a kind and gentle nature, she was a strong woman who helped everyone with a warm smile. She never showed anyone her tears but yesterday when she saw her husband she couldn't hold back and broke into tears.
Everyone watched her helplessly. They clenched their fist and gnashed their teeth together and cursed the Orcs inside their hearts.
Even though they managed to protect the village and the villagers from disaster, they knew very well the one who contributed and sacrificed the most was David. They couldn't help but feel powerless if even one of them had fought better then none of these would have happened.
When David's injuries healed miraculously, none of them questioned a word how this happened only Galena was confused because she was only a level 4 healer, and with David's injuries they needed at least a level 6 healer.
She had confused but seeing Catherine's relieved face she smiled and started to heal others. Catherine thanked Galena again and again before they leave.
They were happy that David got fully healed up and out of danger but they had worked with David for years and knew his personality like the back of their hands. After he woke up he would go to the Azazel forest to chase after the escaped Orc.
Because before collapsing David said that he had a strong feeling that the Orc might bring his comrades and attack the village again with a greater number and at that time they couldn't do anything.
They tried to chase after the Orc but he vanished into the forest in mere seconds.
"I know what we should do." Leon, who was also the village guard said and the other two nodded their heads in agreement like they understood what Leon meant to say.
The next day Catherine woke up when the sunlight fell on her eyes and disturbed her sleep, she faintly opened her eyes while blocking the sunlight with her hand as the light was getting in her eyes.
She looked around the house for a minute as she was still in a daze, she recalled everything yesterday night, she hastily turned her face to look at David. He's sleeping with any problems. She sighed and smiled.
Remembering that she did not check up on his son (protagonist)since last night, She jumped out of her bed in a panic, but he was in a deep slumber, seeing he was okay she signed with relief. She tied her hair behind and started to do her daily chores.
David also woke up half an hour later, after waking up he saw that Catherine was making breakfast and his son was sleeping so he didn't disturb them, though he wanted to play with his son.
He washed his face and checked his physical condition, he gently touched the places where he got injuries but there were none. He was shocked and checked his body repeatedly, did some exercise and pushups to check muscle pain but he found none, on the contrary, he was feeling better than ever before, he was more refresh and energetic.
He still couldn't believe that he was healed by Galena as the injuries were fatal and couldn't be healed by some level 4 healer. he had experienced her healing magic in the past too when he was lightly injured. Galena healed him but some muscle pain and scars had remained even after treatment.
He pondered for a while as he knew that Galena couldn't pull this off by herself, he was healed by someone else too other than Galena. But who, other than Galena no one could use healing magic in the village or any other nearby village.
After thinking deeply for a while, his eyes opened widely, "could it be…" He mumbled something as if he got some clues but he instantly shook his head to deny it. He sighed in worry as he looked in the direction of his house.
He exercised a little and then went inside the house, after entering the house he stared at his son(protagonist).
Catherine saw him constantly staring at the baby while standing in front of the baby. She asked him gently in her sweet tone, "What happened? Why are you staring at our child?"
"I was just thinking that our baby looks adorable when he's asleep." Though he said that, the look in his eyes was not of a father, his eyes were full of questions.
He quickly shook off his doubts and looked at one specific corner of his house, in that place his armor and sword were kept. He grabbed his sword, the edges of the sword were chipped from various places and damaged beyond repair, and couldn't be used anymore.
The condition of armor was similar, the leather parts were ripped and the iron plate which was meant to protect the chest part was scratched but thankfully it could still be used. He just has to change the leather parts of the armor which was used as a cover layer for the iron plate.
Fortunately, he had some spare leather for times like that, it took him half an hour to sew the leather and attach the iron plate. He picked the sword to see if he could do something but it was beyond repair so he had to replace it with a new one.
He pondered and looked at his bed, he put the sword down and went to his bed. He bent and pulled something out under the bed, it was a sword which was wrapped with a cloth, the cloth was quite dirty which showed the sword was placed there for years and had never been taken out.
