I exploded forward, knowing that I had a limited amount of energy and resistance compared to him, and my elbow hit his knee with a crunch of bones, making him fall to the ground. My leg went up to kick him while he was down before a shout stopped me.
“Stop!” the councilor bellowed from somewhere behind me and I stepped back to gain some distance just in case the prince counterattacked. As I backed up, I noticed the councilor approaching me. “Princess, was I not clear that there would be no permanently debilitating attacks?”
“You were,” I answered and internally groaned, as the overzealous man had stolen some of the advantage I had for pressing forward. In response, I pointed to the prince, who was sluggishly getting up with a flustered face. “But he’s fine. Aren’t you, prince?”
‘Bet he wasn’t expecting a little girl to send him on his back with a single punch.’ I didn’t answer, but it was clear by the anger hiding behind his eyes.
