I don’t know what I imagined leaving the capital would be like, but I certainly wasn’t expecting what I saw.
The earth was barren…as far as the eye could see in every direction but west. The capital remained standing only because of the underwater river running right under us and the wells that people had excavated long ago.
Devastation thoroughly affected this land.
I vividly recalled watching Chinese movies with my beloved, and all I ever saw were green forests and lush lands.
What had happened?
