Chapitre 93: Home No More

As soon as I crossed the threshold into the small apartment we shared for what felt like a lifetime, I was greeted by the emptiness and coldness of the room.

The only audible sound in the room was that of the fridge, humming away as if nothing had happened… as if my world hadn’t crumbled into dust.

My feet took me to the bed —our bed— and the tears came back. I fell on top of it, breathing in his scent and trying to console myself while my mind began conjuring images I was deeply familiar with.

My darling laying on the bed with his laptop over his legs, typing away with some music in the background; him looking at me with a smile as I woke up; me messing with his hair or braiding it to entertain myself while he took a nap; us cuddling while watching a series on his laptop; and us sleeping together until, invariably, one of us got frisky and convinced the other to go at it as if we’re bunnies in heat.
