Chapitre 40: The Tower

Zia's hands pressed against the wooden door firmly as she held it shut. She breathed heavily, trying to calm her nerves while her heart felt like it would burst. What just happened? Who was that? Why was he so horrible?

She turned around, leaning her back against the door, finding herself in another dark room with a spiraling stairwell. "More stairs." She huffed while looking up as far as her sight would take her. She leaned off of the door and began walking up the stairs. She tried her hardest to step lightly but the stairs creaked with each step.

Images of the wicked man clouded Zia's thoughts while she climbed. His piercing eyes were haunting her, circling through her mind. The scowl on his face made her shrink within herself. His chilling voice made her skin crawl with each word he spoke.
