Chapitre 16: Chapter 16: Butt Out

Three weeks after a tornado tore Horace apart, the town is officially open again. City officials said that there are limited utilities and encourage residents to keep that in mind as they head back to their homes. Mayor Tony Ross said, "Our town has been hit hard, but we have come together. We have prevailed, and we have come out stronger than before. We will rebuild, and we will not let this get us down."

Rushing through the hospital, Shelby tried to get to her sister as fast as she could. She was supposed to be there. Anna shouldn't have woken up alone. She was so mad at herself for being gone and when she came through her sister's door, and Anna was awake, with the head of the bed up, a sob escaped her without her even knowing it was coming.

"Shh, I've got you," Austin said as he held on to her. If he hadn't been there, she'd have fallen to the floor.

"Shelb," Anna said. Her voice was raspy, but she was speaking.
