Chapitre 18: Sports Festival 4
Shoto came towards Ao and said with a smug "I did make you use your quirk. When my ice reached you."
Ao looked at Shoto "I knew that was not an accident. It felt too personal. You were targeting me too."
Shoto said, "Though it was when you weren't paying attention, I still made you use it. Now I only have to do it on stage.", saying that he walked away.
Ao just laughed at his brother, "Brat"
He then went towards his seat to watch other fights. He saw Midoriya writing something on a burnt text-book that had No. 16 in it.
Ao: "What are you doing Green-boy?"
Midoriya: "A-Ao-san, I-I'm j-just writing down some…" the more he talked the more his sound got smaller. "By the way, isn't it your turn?"
Ao realized that it was his turn to fight. "Oh Shit." Ao heard Present Mic calling for Momo and then him.
He flew from his position and landed on the opposite side of Momo. "Momo-chan. I won't go easy on you just because we are close ok?"
Momo looked tense. She knew that her chance of winning was almost null but still she wanted to do something to prove herself.
'Ao-san said that he won't be using his quirk but his physical powers are enough to take to the top. He hasn't used it till now except for that one instance with Shouto-san's ice but that was not for a match but an easy self defense. The thing I have to be careful of is to not let him get near me. For that i'll need--", while she was in the middle of her inner monolog, Present Mic shouted, "Start".
Ao looked at Momo's nervous face and said, "Momo-chan, remember what I said during our 2nd day in school? You have the smarts to analyze and plan but you need experience so let me ask you this; just now did you come up with any plan? From the moment we stood up on this stage and talked, it has already been more than 10 seconds. In front of a villain you won't even get that much time to think. So, even while I am still talking for 4-5 seconds, did you think of any other plan?"
Momo was taken back by Ao's words. She hadn't come up with any plan and even while he was talking and not attacking, she still didn't do so.
"You see, your greatest weakness is that you think too much. You already know everything but you still get stuck with unnecessary details. Do you know why I know this?"
Momo shook her head but she was also thinking of a plan thanks to Ao's reminder.
"Now hear me out, I ain't a creep but I was watching you and Shoto at the Calvary Battle. Your reaction and adaptation to situations are great but only after you had a plan which in that case was Shoto. Now come at me. Let this be a lesson for you too."
Momo made a long range weapon and a thick shield. She fired her rubber gun at Ao's head, who dodged it with ease.
Ao was impressed. "Oh, your accuracy is not bad but, going after the head is not a good idea."
Ao closed his distance with Momo while dodging the bullets.
Ao said while he got near her, "This plan can be effective against people like electric guy but for someone like me who has a monstrous amount of reaction speed, go for their widest body part and predict where they dodge, then fire."
Momo did exactly as Ao said. She shot towards his body at his left and immediately at center and right.
"Good, keep me out of your range."
For 4 more minutes Ao dodged against Momo's bullets and Momo changed her weapon to something of rapid fire. She was getting more and more calm.
She took Ao's advice and made little progress. After 4 minutes of going back and forth, Momo finally landed a bullet on Ao. He faked that he got hurt and Momo who saw this, dropped her guards down and lowered her gun.
However, the next instance, Ao got dangerously close to Momo and said, "Never even for a second put your guards down Momo-chan."
Momo made a steel rod and was ready to attack but, "Yaoyorozu Momo, out of bound. Winner, Todoroki Ao." Midnight declared.
Momo looked down and realized that all this time, Ao had been slowly making her step back after coming close to her. She looked at Ao and said, "You not only went easy on me but also helped me. And I should have known that things like bullets can't hurt you. Seems like I'm still very far from my goal."
Ao said, "Well while I could tank your bullets, it would not be a good choice. I helped you because everyone deserves a chance to show off. If you were a Hero or Villain maybe I would have ended it quickly but this is a place to show off and I just wanted you to do so."
They went off the stage towards their seats. Ao wasn't really interested in other matches other than Bakugou VS Uraraka. His next opponent was a girl from 1-B named Shiozaki Ibara. He was not happy to know that.
Ao after seeing her thought, 'She has dead eyes and also gives me a Yandere vibes. I should avoid her.'
He fell asleep during all other matches and only woke up when he heard Present Mic shout 'Uraraka VS Bakugo'.
The match was interesting but also nerve wracking for him. He cheered for Uraraka but at the last moment felt like strangling Bakugou.
'She fought well and she can still improve too. This match made her realize her weakness. But that Ash-shit-kun, his reaction speed is also quite something and that explosion too. It's almost comparable to Shoto's flames. If I go against him, I'll beat the crap out of him. Or should I go and give him a punch right now?'
After a serious analysis his mind again went to the gutter, "Midnight likes youth huh. I'd like to show you my youth. Anyways, Next match should be Shoto vs Green-boy"

Evilest_God If you feel like finding logic in fanfics then please stop. Just go with Anime logic and live us alone.
And about -100,000 of Ao's quirk, I have some 'abilities' prepared for him and most of them are at how chakra can create 1000+ clones that can somehow work on perfect sync and not get overloaded with memories when they dispell, you know, just 'Anime Logic'.
