"We're doing the best we can, and I think we have a great start," explained Martha Burgess. She was standing in front of Benjamin Hall's desk, along with Mister Zulu. "We got rid of the Knight, Seth Thomas, a girl called Omega, and one of the instructors."

"I don't even know those people," said Ben Hall. "They mean nothing to me. I want the Callahans and that Katya bird. You haven't even touched one of them."

"You don't know the people we got rid of because we changed the timeline, but they were important to you beforehand. It's tricky, Mister Hall. There are consequences if we just start wiping people out. We have to put all our ducks in a row. As far as Katya is concerned, we can't find her beginning at all. It's like she just showed up somewhere around 1929. We're not even sure that was her first, because she jumped around in time so much."
