Extended Prologue | Part 3

Toya could still apply to other small-time Hero Courses, but he was pretty sure, his father had ways to get behind that as well. All because of that… brat.

Toya shook his head. His youngest brother, Shoto Todoroki got the worst treatment out of them all. But still… if he wasn't there, maybe, just maybe his life would be a lot better.

But who was he kidding? 'If someone is to blame that it was that man, not Shoto.'

A while ago after, Miku —his classmate, who also happened to be the principal's daughter— told him how his application was canceled at the last minute by someone that the principal couldn't ignore.

Now, who could have the authority to have a hand over the principal, either the Hero Association or his father, the number two hero. Who was also the one who admitted him to this school.

The former didn't have any reason, while the latter had all the reason. So that was why he was giving him the look this morning. 'And I thought I had found a way to piss him off by mixing cereal with warm milk.' He smiled at his misery.

There went his dream of becoming a hero. Was there any reason to live? Yeah, there were plenty. Maybe being a chief or an office worker would fit him better. He smiled to himself, a hollow smile.

Why did it pain so bad? He shook his head.

He will figure something out. He always did. Toya looked up over to the train door, and he left his train-stop an hour ago. Just great, now he would be running late for home.

Which was a plus, he didn't want to see, that man's face in the dinner table. God knows what he would do if did. "This day couldn't get any worse…"

And the train shook before stopping suddenly, the sudden break knocked most of the standing passengers. And it caused an uproar. But Toya didn't have time for that as he looked out of the window.

"What the…" that was what all he could say, as he looked at the roaring chaos outside. Building pleaded with fire, smashed vehicles, and screaming people running for their life.

The was an explosion from the front of the train and the whole passenger compartment shook. The doors were shut tight, but luckily there was a strength-type quirk user, who out of panic or cunningness, opened them.

Toya got to his feet, brushing past the tsunami of passengers that went towards the door, each pushing the other one aside. Toya wanted to get out himself when a cry caught his attention.

The whole train shook again and the front of the compartment seemed to have been dented, it seemed like a broken piece of the building was on it. And the power was cut off, and in a light-less train, the struggle seemed to get worse.

Wide-eyed, he stopped the struggle to get to the door, he backed off, and headed towards the broken area. Maybe someone was in trouble.

There was almost no light on the train. Flicking his fingers, a ball of blue flames appeared on his palm, lighting the way. "Move aside." Hearing his voice cleared out the area.

It was around here somewhere, and… he saw it. A small girl maybe around ten, was stuck beneath her seat and because of the seats meshed together couldn't get out.

Toya knelled down, pushing his hand inside for the girl to grab. "Hold on." He said.

"I can't…" the girl seemed to be crying and was taking breaths in between her talk. "My mother is in here."

Toya frowned, snapping his fingers to light the spot up. And sure there was a lady lying unconscious face first, and she seemed to be bleeding out from her head.

Looking closely, was the small girl, holding away from the dented section, saving both of them from being crushed down. Thank God! She must have a strength type quirk. Toya stood up, pushing away broken parts of concrete with much difficulty. Yeah, she definitely had a strength quirk.

He quickly got her mother out. The train was almost empty by now. So they didn't have to struggle to get out.

After getting the girl and her mother out, he took them towards a nearby Firefighter unite. Many people injured were already there. Toya even saw some unlucky people that didn't make it. He sighed, he wished he could have saved them.

But where were the Heroes? That was a stupid question. With so much property damage, they were most likely in a rescue situation. The whole city was under attack. When he was inside the train, he got a better view, almost five or six buildings were caught in flames.
