"We don't have the answers you want, Solis," Aria said finally.
Solis blinked. "Then why do you assume that Noir will be in danger?" he asked.
"Because he's different," Tygr said. "And he's impossible."
"We don't know that for sure yet," Jovis said. "Noir may not even be a mixed blood child with half mortal blood and half the blood of a divine being. There's no need to argue so much about all this. All we know here is that Noir has divine blood, and it instinctively rises to protect Solis whenever he's in danger. As long as it helps, why should we look a gift horse in the mouth? We may as well let the sleeping dogs lie."
Solis was quite unsatisfied with this response. How was he supposed to keep his little darling safe if he didn't understand what was going on, and why Noir would be in danger?
However, before he could raise his objections out loud, there was a soft groan from his side and Noir's eyes fluttered open.
