Chapitre 62: Chapter 62: Saving Tim

“Here, put your legs through these straps,” Jake ordered.

Tim obeyed and Jake signaled that he needed the second line. Brad dropped it and Jake grabbed at it, missing the first time as the wind whipped it away from him. The gust stopped and he snagged the rope and tucked it under his arm.

“I’m going to get you out of there, Tim,” Jake said. Tim didn’t look at him or answer.

Jake lowered himself so that his boots were against the bridge, but in the raging current. He hooked Tim’s harness onto the other line and disentangled him from the debris that held him hostage.

“You’ll go up before me. If you’re too weak to climb, they can pull you up.”

He received a glare from Tim. Jake signaled to Brad and the lines pulled the two up from the river. Jake held his breath. With feet braced on the bridge support, he walked slowly up the side keeping an eye on Tim.
