Chapitre 22: Covered in Blood

Vanessa’s jaw dropped and her hands covered her mouth as if to hold all the shock inside her. “What do you mean he mysteriously disappeared? You said he was on cleaning duty at the club last night!” Malik went to reach for her but she pulled back, “You’re not just saying this to keep me away from him are you?” she asked.

Malik dropped his hand and shook his head, “No, he really has disappeared.”

Vanessa hit his arm and he winced in pain, “Why didn’t you say anything?! Or did it not matter because you forbade me from seeing him anyway?”

Malik’s arm healed and he shook his head again, “I didn’t know how to tell you. And with whatever is going on with you, I especially didn’t know how to bring it up with you. It does matter.”

He was telling the truth. He looked at a loss of how to even proceed with the conversation. Frankly, neither did she, but they both gave it a shot anyway. “Are you at least doing something about it?”
