GAR
The humans had started bringing cages. But with their devices still down, they were having trouble with the manual locks. Using guards and guns and threats, they'd forced all the Anima—and Rika—to their feet and into a ragged line.
One by one, when human eyes were turned away, Gar had maneuvered his way through the line, given space by his brothers, until he stood behind Rika.
She hadn't turned to look at him, but she was aware of him, he knew. Just as his chest pulled for her, hers pulled for him. He was certain of it.
Then the Anima, desperate for comfort, for strength, closed ranks, pressing together in the line until Rika was huddled into his chest. With their arms bound and trying to avoid attention, he couldn't hold her. But he dropped his chin and rolled his shoulders, cradling her with his body. And though she never looked at him, she leaned her weight into him.
"When can we read the rest of the chapters if we don't buy privilege?"
The TL,DR version is: No later than 1 June, but I'm trying to get it to you sooner.
The ACTUAL answer is....
I have an "After the End" catch-up I wanted to write and post in June, but the system on WN has changed and become really restrictive for completed books. Basically, if I mark the book complete at the end of this week when the event ends (So those chapters will start feeding out of privilege day by day), that one catch-up chunk of chapters is all I will be allowed to post on the book EVER.
Whereas, if I wait until June (when I have time to write it properly) I can remove all the privilege tiers (except the 1 coin tier that is only in WN's control), mass release the remaining chapters, and post the extra material WITHOUT using up that last chance to publish on it, that I had hoped to leave for a special occasion later.
None of this is in your hands, and I know that's frustrating. I'm sorry that you have to wait. I am trying to see if I can find time to write in May instead of June so I can post those chapters in May so they push the ending chapters through privilege for you. But it's not looking good, honestly. My schedule was already pushed out three days because Dark Alpha took longer to complete than I expected, and with the two new books, my commitment calendar is full.
So, please forgive me, I have been so busy in the lead up to this I actually forgot about privilege and didn't think all of this through before I published the ending, so I'm scrambling to try and figure it out now. I will keep you posted!
