~~~(POV: Durado)~~~
The path has led to a giant room filled with medical equipment and servers. I walk up to one of the terminals and try to access it.
The security on this terminal is above what I'm capable of breaking into. "Any of you know who to access what's in these servers?" I continue to type and running different programs to try and find out what I've come here for, but I've found nothing.
Doesn't help that I can't even get in. The door on the other side of the room opens, and we all point our blasters and what we're met with a Scott with his hands up.
I roll my eyes. I indicate for everyone to put their weapons down. "You find anything yet?" He walks towards me, and I shake my head. It's going to take a while to get into any of these servers. "Let me give it a try." If I know anyone who could do it, it's Scott.
I step aside, and he confidently looks at the screen, and I watch him create a brand new program and write his own custom cracking software.
Something like this would take hours, but for him, it's like an everyday thing. I watch the server's information pop up. "All done with this one. I'll work on the rest." He steps away and heads to the next terminal.
The information on the servers connected to this terminal talks about early discoveries on Heroor, but anything regarding the colonists isn't here. I wouldn't doubt the information is located offsite and taken to Gord-Prime.
I look to where Scott walked to, and I see the rest of the terminals are unlocked and ready to be read. I see him reading things as he unlocks the rest of the terminals on the other side of the room.
I walk to the next terminal, and no matter where I look, there are no hints to whatever was happening to the colonists or my daughter.
Scott comes back over to me, and he doesn't have a good look. "There is no information on what they did here. It's safe to assume that the research notes were taken to Gord-Prime. There's nothing of worth here regarding your daughter." My anger and frustration rise.
I draw my blaster, and I destroy all the consoles and servers. Scott has been a big help, but this trip turned up with nothing, and we're one ship short now. "When do you want to leave?" That's the next question. Gord-Prime isn't just an easy target.
I sigh and look at the surviving group members. I'm not going to kill them, but this is as far as our team-up gets. "We're leaving. Do you have any idea how we're going to get off this planet without getting shot? Let alone finding me another ship..." I'm pretty sore about that.
I've had that ship for six years. Almost beat my all-time record. Scott smiles and waves for me to follow him through the door he came through.
I turn back to the group. "This is the end for us working together. You'll be safe here, but you're on your own now." They want to speak up, but they know it's a bad idea.
The door closes behind us, and we're by ourselves now. "There aren't any starships left, so that means we're going to have to squeeze in my one-seater Autumn's Fall. This is the only way since the weapons fired from the structure have destroyed all ships in orbit and on the planet except mine." I have questions for Scott.
Many of them are how he's alright and, why he's treated differently by everything here, how he's able to get access to everything. "First, we need to stop at the control room. I want to check something." I see no harm. We can spend a little more time.
The control room isn't a place that should be easily accessible. I can continue to see the extent of how smart Scott really is. "What are we looking for in the control room?" I do want to know this, and he tells me he's doing this based on a hunch.
I'd normally call bullshit, but he won't do anything to put us in any harm on purpose. "I won't dig anymore. I'll trust you." He looks back at me and smiles. It's nice to have an apprentice to rely on and can actually contribute. Time to check out the control room.
