The bright sunlight from outside penetrated the private ward through the crack between the curtain. It dispelled the gloominess inside and brought in warmness. The breeze came in and out, bringing along the bitter scent of disinfection and medicine.

One person was sleeping peacefully on the bed, and another person slept beside him in an awkward position. His body draped on the backrest of his chair, arm folded across his muscular chest, and head drooped lower and lower. Such a position would make his neck sore and strained later.

Ryan's eyelids quivered before he slowly opened his eyes. Something was different with the color of his eyes. A tinge of gold swirled like a storm within the emerald irises.

His hooded eyes languidly scanned his surroundings and eventually landed on a sleeping figure beside his bed.
