Chapitre 36: A woman's gut

"Are you trying to threaten my husband right in front of me?" Walking towards her, Sussane raised her brows. "You should try that again."

Awkwardly clearing his throat, Arnold tried to stop his wife. "Honey, we should go inside the—" But he had to shut himself and step aside when she glared at him.

Looking at Arnold, Cynthia scoffed, "Look at what you have become—"

"He has become a husband, a wise husband who knows if his wife gets mad, there are consequences he has to face," Sussane remarked before taking a step towards Cynthia. "Now listen to me, you might be someone invincible and great in your smelly workplace but this is mine. So don't try to act smart here. We open only at night and that is not gonna change even if the sky falls. Now if you excuse us, we have customers to serve."

Walking inside the restaurant, she looked at Arnold. "You wanna stay here?"

"I am right behind you honey," Arnold quickly replied before following her inside.

Inside.

"Are you mad?"

Crossing her arms in the front, Sussane frowned, "I don't like her."

Shrugging his shoulder, Arnold sighed, "She is not that bad you—" When she raised her brows, he quickly added, "But since you don't like her, I will make sure she follows the decorum."

"Whatever it is Arnold, I have told you this before and I am telling you again, something is not right about this woman. This is a woman's gut, you should always trust it."

Placing his hands on her shoulder, he said, "Babe, I agree that Cynthia is a bit weird but she will never do anything to harm us."

Rolling her eyes, she slapped his hand away. "Don't trust me now but I am sure you will regret it later." Walking away, she added, "Not to forget that she was the first one who objected to our marriage and yet you are taking her side."

"I am not taking her side, I am always on your side," he remarked while rushing towards her.

Evening

Ivan's place

"Can I please go to the terrace?"

"So you can jump from one building to another and give me a heart attack? No thank you." Passing them a packet of potato poppers each, Ivan added, "Here, eat this in peace until someone comes to fetch you both."

Looking at the packet, Dylon scoffed, "You are giving us poppers? What are we? Three?"

"How does eating poppers have anything to do with your age? Don't be ridiculous, these are the best poppers you have ever had." Waving another packet at them, he smiled, "I still eat them."

"Do you have some ice cream too? Darius doesn't let us have ice creams or anything cold though Rachael brings it for us all the time," Rylon sighed.

"Go check the freezer."

Exclaiming in joy, both of them ran towards the refrigerator. "This is why we love you Ivan, you are the best."

Just then Ivan received a call from Athan. "Hey bro, guess we have to cancel the plan."

"What plan? The weekend one?"

"No, that is on. We had a plan of meeting today, remember?"

Scratching his forehead, Ivan let out an affirmative sound. Of course he had forgotten about the plan. For the whole day, he had to take care of Rylon and Dylon because he didn't want them to roam around in the open. He also had to attend many meetings so the plan completely slipped off his mind.

"You forgot, didn't you?" Athan sighed. "Anyway, since I am busy, you are forgiven. But the weekend plan is on, okay?"

"What are you busy with?"

Keeping quiet for a while, Athan answered, "Something big and angry."
