Chapitre 25: Sixty year old
"Wait, what?" Scrunching his brows, Ivan retorted, "I am not following you."
"Of course," Amber grunted. "When has a creep ever admitted that he is one?"
"Did you just call me a creep?" he snapped. Ivan had no idea on what basis the crazy woman right in front of him was accusing him for following her.
"You are leaving or should I call the security?"
Crossing his arms in the front, he raised his brows. "Why should I go anywhere? I am here to meet someone—"
Cutting him off, she snorted, "As if I'll buy that."
"I don't care if you buy anything or not, I am here—" Pointing at the nameplate on the door, he stated, "I am here to meet Amber Clarton."
Crossing her arms in the front, she snapped, "I am Amber Carlton."
Glaring at her from head to toe, he inquired, "So you are Amber Clarton the therapist?"
"Yes, do you have a problem with that?"
"Well, I had an appointment with you—" Glancing at his watch, he added, "Scheduled fifteen minutes ago."
Scrunching her brows, she carefully looked at him. She did have one appointment scheduled in the afternoon with Genny's boss, could it be—
Widening her eyes in shock, she asked, "Are you Genny's boss?"
"My name is Ivan Carter but Genny's boss doesn't sound like a very bad name," he answered casually.
"I—" Amber panicked. "I am really very sorry, I did not recognize you. I should have asked you why you are here first instead of accusing you this way." Quickly taking out the keys from her bag, she added, "Actually I did not expect her boss to be this young—"
"Excuse me?" he frowned. "What do you mean by that? Were you expecting a sixty year old man?"
Gulping in nervousness, she nervously chuckled, "Why don't we go inside and get started." Without waiting for his reply, she quickly opened the door and rushed inside. Yes, she was indeed expecting at least a middle-aged man as Genny's boss but who would have thought things would turn out to be different.
Mentally shrugging off everything that had happened, Ivan followed her inside.
…..
Inside.
Looking around once, Ivan sat on the long couch.
"I apologize for the misunderstanding, I really didn't mean to—"
Cutting her off, he remarked, "Call me a sixty year old?" When she gave him a weak smile, he added, "It's okay Miss or—"
"Miss—"
"It's okay Miss Carlton, people who haven't seen me often think that I am an old man."
Sitting on the chair right across him, Amber opened her diary. "Since all the misunderstandings have been cleared, why don't we start the session."
Shrugging his shoulders, he nodded his head. "Okay, let's start."
A very awkward silence enveloped the entire room making both of them feel very uncomfortable.
Tapping her pen on the hardcover of the diary, Amber impatiently waited for him to say something.
Ivan on the other hand was also waiting for her to say something.
Awkwardly clearing her throat, she remarked, "You need to tell me something."
"Like what?"
"Anything that is bothering you or something that you wanna talk about," she answered.
Thinking for a while, he replied, "I can't think of anything presently."
