As his brother, Lucian did have the same responsibility as Lucia to resurrect the True Dragon King after 500 years of his death.

After the True Dragon King died, they were given the will to perform the Demon King Summoning Ritual. Still, the True Dragon King strictly forbade them to do so without the help of the Twelve Servants.

Lucia and Lucian had to team up with the Twelve Servants to perform a Ritual that required a lot of magical energy.

Lucian, who was supposed to be there to resurrect the True Dragon King 500 years ago, instead had a fight with Lucia and ended up being locked up in the Abyssal Rift.

At first, when Lucian saw Evan, he thought that Evan was resurrected with the help of the Twelve Servants. However, upon learning that there was no servant in Darkness Castle, he realized that Lucia was doing the Ritual alone.
