Casper and I moved ahead of the group while keeping low. The gunshots were still coming from in front of us, meaning whoever was fighting the bear was having a hard time defeating it.

"An infected?"

I whispered to Casper, who shrugged.

"Beats me. Even if it's infected, it's quite... complete and uninjured. You didn't see any entrails or blood, did you?"

"No... None I can think of."

"Yeah. But unless they are fighting with a 9mm handgun, they should be able to take down a live bear easily. So... Best be on our guard."

He said with a sigh before pushing away some bushes obstructing our way forward.

Finally, we saw the source of the gunshots.

The area before us had been ravaged by something, probably the bear. Trees had been broken and uprooted, trunks had fallen here and there. Amid that destructive scene, several people were fighting against a large... infected bear.
