"Are you okay?" Nik asked again when he heard the chopper take off from Garner stats. This question was meant for all his siblings, but mainly it was meant for Amelia, the girl who had made the hardest of choices today. 

What the both of them had done today would certainly haunt her for a while, that much Nik was certain of. Perhaps that was only because Lia hadn't wanted to do it like this, but she needed to send a message to Alexander. 

She needed him to be careful and take heed of what she said the last time they met. The man had probably called her bluff, but Amelia James had stopped bluffing ages ago. She needed him on high alert, and wanted to give him a feeling of what it meant to lose at the most crucial point.
