"There's only one way to find out. I talked to one of her men and well, it wasn't forthcoming. I suppose you already know of the back clash against us. I'm sorry it came to this," Alex said and his parents just looked at him.

Their eyes were conflicted because their child was dealing with a tough woman, a dangerous one for a fact.

They hadn't even managed to know her better when she had been living with them, but now that they knew of her, they only had a wish to turn back time and get her out as soon as possible. Amelia James was Alex's greatest weakness and his parents knew of that.

The world, however, knew that Alex was an abuser and had turned his girlfriends into a mockery.

They hated Alex for the things that they had done to the woman. All that the Garner had done was protect her and he may have failed to be perfect, but even Lia knew that her Alex had shown up for her more than anyone ever did.
