Damien loved his family, and he was scared of coming from the battlefield to news of another lost family member.
He would literally go insane if that ever happened.
He would totally lose his sanity.
It was already sad enough that they were orphans and had lost Dyl, but losing another of them would kill him.
It would destroy him and everything he believed in. He didn't want that. He had promised to protect their family, and he would do that. Maybe it was good that he was back to desk duty for the next three years. That was enough time to make sure Amelia grew up without thinking of any pains.
He hated seeing his sister so broken.
These were the only remaining members of his family and his world, and he wouldn't let them leave him, not when he could stop them. So staring at them, or rather, glaring and drilling holes into their heard subconsciously, Damien waited for his answer.
The one thing that would make him even more sane.
