Meeting Eduard the next day, Slate went straight to the point.

"When she returned or when she contacted you, what reason did she say why she had been out of reach?"

Eduard was a bit baffled but understood that Slate wanted to check the weird changes on Amethyst.

"It was a slide she said, they were out of reach because of a slide. We think that she even have lesser food because she had become thinner when she returned," Eduard recalled.

"Other than that she didn't say anything more, but..." Eduard continued before he paused.

"What is it?" Slate furrowed his brows when Eduard paused.

Eduard told him that he and Anna asked Amethyst to promise that she will tell them if something was bothering her. Amethyst indeed made the promise but she also crossed her fingers behind her back.

"We knew then that she is still hiding something but we just couldn't ask. You were the same right?"
