Chapitre 20: Chapter 20: The Light Atmosphere

"Is it possible for you to stay a bit longer?" Slate asked Amethyst.

It was already dark outside, seven in the evening, Slate had just clocked out.

"I have nothing else to do, it is fine," Amethyst replied.

Her eyes were red and was a bit shy when Slate entered.

But he seemed to already know that she had cried because nothing changed in him.

"Then, I'll just go home to get some clothes of hers. And sis, You will be staying here for a week, it is to check on you," he looked at Scarlet and said.

Scarlet pouted before sighing, "Geez, hospital again. Fine, I think I can live with it."

Slate nodded his head and looked at Amethyst saying goodbye before he started leaving the room.

"Oh by the way, I think you didn't but I still want to inform you that miss Clara Thompson came here earlier and said that you sent her to take care of me, trying to send Amethyst away," Scarlet before Slate could leave the room.

Slate looked at her with a blank face, "You already knew the answer to that. Just ignore it, it is your discretion whether she stays or not or whether Amethyst leaves or not."

Then he left the room closing the door behind him.

"Amethyst?" Scarlet muttered.

It is the first time she heard him speak using Amethyst's first name.

Amethyst looked at her, thinking she was calling her.

"No, I was just stunned to hear him use your first name," she explained.

Amethyst remembered that they have just decided to drop formalities today.

"We have talked about it a while ago before you woke up. We were acquaintances for a few months now that speaking using each other's family name is too stiff," she then said.

Scarlet smiled happily, 'My brother surely became more adapted towards her. He never used a lady's given name even though they knew each other for long. This is a first.'

Amethyst tilted her head to the side as she watch Scarlet smile meaningfully but wouldn't say anything.

"Anyway, how do you plan on the story board?" she asked afterwards when Scarlet remained not saying anything.

Scarlet looked up to think for a bit before she looked back at Amethyst.

"I got the idea for the story flow because of you as well," she then said.

"Me?" Amethyst was shock.

Scarlet smiled, "Yes, as you move around and gives me the details., I had the best idea I could think of for this story."

Then she started telling Amethyst about the story of how she wanted it to be.

"As for the title, I still haven't thought of a good one," Scarlet sighed in the end.

"Well since the story is still starting, you stll have time to think about it," Amethyst commented but she can tell that the story was indeed good.

Scarlet smiled again, "Just as I thought we somehow have the same thoughts. Yes, I was also thinking of coming up with a title as the story goes on."

"But I am informing you before hand, it has been five years. My hands have those yips whenever it hovers over the keyboard. My mind goes blank every time I try to come up with story ideas."

Scarlet stared at her before she started laughing, "Don't reassure yourself no matter what you can do that is more than enough for me."

Amethyst giggled in return, "What I can do now is stand on the character's point of view. Where I try to act as them in certain situations."

Then she turned serious, "This is actually something I still couldn't do two years ago."

Scarlet was shock to hear it because she did it during her collection of data.

"I was able to do it, I think because I was able to meet you and you gave me the chance to start over again," Amethyst explained.

"And for that I am grateful. For letting me get over a bit of my past trauma," she bowed her head after saying this.

Scarlet extended both her hands and pulled Amethyst for a hug, "You were never wrong. No matter what, leaving behind everything was not your wrong. They were the ones in the wrong so don't feel bad about your stories. Because now, someday we are sure that you will surely return to this world."

"Hmmm."

Tears came out again as she hugged Scarlet back.

Scarlet knew where her yips came from.

From the fact that she turned her back on her stories, on that life of hers.

From the fact that she still runaway.

Another half an hour passed before she once again calmed down and a bit more before Slate returned with Scarlets clothes and some dinner.

"You two should eat. I think I need to rest now again," Scarlet told them.

"Is there another place where we could eat?" Amethyst asked him.

It is not because of the noise but the smell might not help Scarlet fal asleep either.

Slate thought for a bit before he nodded his head.

Then he lead the way towards an indoor garden where the roof was ceiling to give the ones visiting the night sky view.

"It's pretty," she commented as they settle down.

"Hmmm, here you go."

She looked down to see him handing her an ice pack. SH eblinked a few times before she slowly accepted it.

He gestured for her eyes without saying a word and continued fixing the foods.

She was unable to help in fixing because she was stunned by his actions.

She could only thank him in a quiet voice before applying it in her eyes.

Despite it only being eight in the evening, there were still few people being there.

Other than the nurses and doctors who came for their short break, the visitors would rather stay in the rooms and beside their loved ones.

"Where do you plan to go next?" he asked in the middle of their dinner.

"You seem so sure that I am really going," she asked in an amused tone.

"The light atmosphere between the two of you is enough to tell me that the problem has been solved," he replied with a shrug.

She smiled, "I plan to go to Northern Blossom."

"That's a bit far, isn't it?" he asked.

Northern Blossom was in Atok and this was one and a half hour away from the city center.

"It may be but that place is filled with flowers and when I spoke with Scarlet she also thought of it as a good final place. Since I felt like looking at them now, then I can go there earlier despite it appearing on the last part of the book. Plus, endings are sometimes created earlier than the middle part of the stories."

She was about to continue when she noticed that he remained silent staring back at her.

"What is it? Is there something wrong?" she asked him.

"Nothing, just thought you are more free in expressing your mind unlike the last months that you are helping her out," he commented before he returned his focus on his food.

"Oh, well, I guess I am. And it feels refreshing," she replied with her eyes smiling.

Slate had on an imperceptible smile as he looked at her, "Then that is good. For you and for her."
