Chapitre 9: Chapter09: Something Changed Inside Her
Slate, who once again accompanied Amethyst back to Botanical Garden, is looking at Amethyst, who was standing in front of the gate for five minutes now, without doing anything and just having her eyes closed.
In reality, just as she had said, he was not obligated to follow her and as for making sure she was doing the right thing and getting the right information, he was also not obligated to do that.
The place was near and nothing should be worried about towards a mid twenty who was living here for five years, to be placed in any kind of danger. It was close to their home, some walking distance away.
But alas, his sister who loves making him do things he didn't want just have to go and make him her body guard of some sort.
And currently he is on his one month vacation, he'll return to work in mid January next year, giving his sister the chance to push him to follow Amethyst when it was Amethyst, who accepted the task.
He sighed and was about to open his mouth when she opened her eyes and he felt as if something has changed inside her.
She looked at the gate of Botanical garden and an imperceptible smile appeared on her face.
She looked around and took a deep breath before she started walking inside.
Though she was with him, he felt as if she was not.
Like she was a different person altogether.
Though curious, Slate decided to just follow her and he could see a difference in the way she was doing things.
The first time they came, which was yesterday, all she did was look around but somehow today she was looking at each place with great interest and from time to time she would show smiles that tells him she enjoyed looking at them.
Time ticked and different from yesterday, the tour took a whole day. She even went and ate at the restaurant built on the Garden.
Slate followed her and ate as well but he feels as if she was doing things alone and that while they share a table, she wasn't seeing him at all.
As they ate, he was actually watching her closely for during that time and before and after that, he somehow felt something familiar towards her but he just can't pinpoint it out.
After eating, she continued touring around but unlike yesterday, she was no longer taking down notes but instead she was simply looking around.
'Is she doing this in the point of view of a tourist?' he thought as he just kept following her.
Until afternoon where she finally decided to step out of that place.
After stepping out, she took a deep breath before somehow, Slate felt that something once again changed inside her.
He was right beside her so after she took a deep breath, she stood there for a bit and when she felt someone beside her, she looked at him.
And he furrowed his brows seeing as she was startled to see him there.
He had been there since the beginning but she was looking as if she didn't know he was there at all.
Didn't they eat together as well?
He thought back and remembered that she ordered without asking him or waiting for him.
Seeing his frown she smiled, "Shall we go back?"
Not minding that she didn't tell him anything of what was going on a while ago and why she was unable to notice his presence, he followed her back to the condominium.

After dinner, Amethyst and Scarlet started talking about the materials she had gathered for the second time and as they progressed Scarlet couldn't help but to stare blankly at her.
"Is there still a problem?" Amethyst noticed this and couldn't help but to feel uneasy of what she had done.
Scarlet slowly shook her head, "No, just that, you are giving me all the information I needed in a way that I wanted."
Amethyst sighed in relief, "I thought I was still unable to do what you wanted me to do."
Scarlet smiled happily and reached out for her hand, "I am grateful because you exceeded my expectation. You have done it so perfectly that I look forward to what you will do next."
Amethyst smiled back, "I am happy I was able to help back."
"Very well, but how did you do it?"
Slate, who was reading some materials from the hospital couldn't help but to look up.
Amethyst and Scarlet were on the dining table while he was on the sofa at the living room.
The dining area and the living room were being separated by a counter.
Amethyst bit her lower lip, not knowing how she will explain.
Scarlet saw this and smiled, "You don't have to explain. It is your way and you are helping me greatly, so whatever it is it is enough that you are doing your best for what I asked of you."
"It is because your help to me was so great I didn't know if this was enough to repay you at all."
Scarlet giggled, "Yes it is more than enough."
Soon, Amethyst bid them goodbye and returned to her own unit with a smile on her face.
As she closed the door, she placed her hand on top of her chest.
In reality, the reason she was unable to notice Slate was with her was because she was overcoming her fear.
What she did a while ago, if she was careless would bring up nothing but trauma.
She was glad it didn't go that bad and she was able to do it just fine.
Her heart right now, after doing what she was used to doing in the past, was so happy it felt like it would burst out of her chest.
'I thought I would never be able to do it. Yet I succeeded,' she happily thought as she jumped to her bed.
She of course tried this after leaving home but every time she did, there was nothing but trauma hunting her.
'Maybe because I was doing it not for myself but for someone else?' she thought hugging her pillow.
Then her brows furrowed, "Her questions and the information she wanted. Could she also be…"
She muttered but then shook her head, "It is not my place to ask about such things or to pry. I was given a chance to pay them back and so I will do it with everything I got."
She was the most energetic right now, as compared to her days in the past where she was living for the sake of just living.
She felt even more alive now.
Her thumping heart that would always happen in the past whenever she thought of something knew and could see how to complete it. It was doing the same right now.
Even though it was just half the work, it was still fulfilling enough that she was very much happy.
And because of this, she had a sound sleep after so long.

"What do you think?" Slate asked Scarlet after explaining what had happened during the day.
"We already have a guess but I think it is confirmed with this. As for the circumstances, we don't know anything," Scarlet then said.
"We don't know anything and it is better that we don't pry when she herself doesn't want us to know," Slate continued what she meant by her words.
Scarlet smiled and nodded her head.
They are currently on the early stages of being friends after all.
