Vincenzo's POV

That evening I made my way to the library where my mother said that Nora would be situated and she was right.

There she was sat on the window seat, flipping through the pages of an old book with a concentrated look on her face, a single lamp lit up on the table beside her while the rest of the large room was cast in darkness.

I didn't announce my presence until she realized. Walking into the room, I sat on one of the chairs beside the oak table and she finally noticed my presence.

"What are you doing here?" She quickly snapped the book shut and sat up.

"I wanted to see you," I honestly replied, sitting up on the chair with crossed legs and one of my hands rested on the table, my fingers impatiently hitting against the wood.

"You did?" She whispered out, almost surprised and I nodded.

"Why?" She tilted her head to the side curiously.

"Because I'm sorry."
