Chapitre 132: The True Villain

After a long day of work, Drake felt exhausted. A midnight walk by the lake seemed a good idea since sleep kept avoiding him for a while now. Every time he closed his eyes, Drake felt weird. A myriad of thoughts crawled inside his mind, throwing away any chance he had to rest.

Maybe a dip inside the lake could help him relax and enjoy a good night's sleep afterward. Rarely did anyone come by the lake, even during the daytime. So, Drake saw no reason why not to strip naked and dive in. He didn't care about the late autumn's cold night air.

He jumped right in. As he descended beneath the surface, the cold water on his skin dulled his perceptions. As Drake fell into the depths, his thoughts were lost in a fog. At the last second, a fire ignited within him, pouring fresh life into his veins. He kicked his legs, wriggled his body upwards, and gasped for air when he breached the surface.
