"Paul, you can go." Regina felt since she was weak right now, he was doing it, trying to take care of her, because he felt pity for her. 'So what I'm weak right now? I do not need your pity.'
"I just want to sit with you." He spoke quietly as if he did not want her to hear.
"No, you do not."
"You do not understand. Maybe you do not need me, but I need you. So please, just let me sit here with you."
When he was saying that Regina could see his jaw stern and his hands gripping the chair like he would topple over at any second.
Regina respected his request and returned to her book. She did not make a sound and neither did he. They just sat together in heavy silence, Paul looking at the garden and Regina looking at her book.
