Chapitre 179: We Meet Again

Xiao Moxian barreled through the woods in the direction where he saw the dark figure, with Wang Jingyuan following closely behind. Suddenly, Xiao Moxian yanked his horse to a sharp stop. Wang Jingyuan barely stopped her steed in time.

"Is anything the matter?" she asked breathlessly.

Xiao Moxian was frowning deeply and looking at their surroundings. "I swear I saw someone here. But there is no one here now."

Wang Jingyuan was about to respond, but a flock of birds suddenly took to the skies somewhere nearby. The wing-flapping sounded eerily loud in the nighttime woods. Xiao Moxian's horse snorted and stomped the ground anxiously.

"Birds…" Xiao Moxian murmured. "At this time, the birds should all be in their nests. Yet they are flying, as if disturbed…"

Rustling noises sounded in the undergrowth around them. Wang Jingyuan and Xiao Moxian looked around wildly. Suddenly, many dark figures burst out from the bushes towards them!
