 Maria, Taylor, Layla, and Michael all walked ahead of Matt and Serenity, reaching the cruise ship as everyone was being let onboard. Taylor had goated Matt and Michael into playing Rock, Paper, Scissors with him, to get them to carry their bags. Maria always packed too much, and her bag was extra-heavy for their trip.

 Layla had told her to wear something extra-nice on their third day at sea, and Maria could guess why..

 She knew that Taylor had bought a ring, but didn't know what it looked like, or where he'd hidden it. Michael and Layla had both told her that she would love it, but they refused to give any details. The only reason to their knowledge of a ring was because she had found a bank withdrawal receipt for seven-thousand dollars on his nightstand.
