My mouth hung open, as Becky told me the story behind the timepiece that she handed over. She fished for what I could tell was a wristwatch from her purse, and then said, "This one is a watch that Zeke gifted me."

Wait a minute, she wants me to use a watch that that bastard gave her?

"Why would you want to use this?" I asked, "Is this truly important to you now that you know he is cheating on you?"

I was enraged and although Becky was my sister and I adored her so much, I can't help but want to slap her with the reality that her boyfriend was one heck of a dick. How could she still think of the watch as an important item? The one that gave it to her was a bastard that deserved to be burned alive!

"If… if my guess was to be true," Becky stuttered "he might be -"

"That Zeke might be your past husband who beat you when he was drunk?" I cut her off by adding the thing I didn't want to be the case at all.
