I took a deep breath as I mounted the covered wagon. If we succeed, I will finally leave Beckforth. I may not be with Jacob, but Francua was definitely a better choice. Now that Queen Catherine already had an idea of what was going on, my engagement will be voided once my feet reach Francua. The Francuan embassy at Beckforth will also close. The alliance that Prince Eric wanted with Francua will never happen. I won't have anything to do with the evil prince!
The four of us were all quiet during the ride. We could hear the horses' hooves as they hit the road. My heart continued to pound. All four of us were extra alert. Dylan has his hands ready to draw his weapons. If we were lucky, it would be a peaceful half an hour drive to the Southern Bay. But knowing Prince Eric, he would not let it happen.
"We're almost there!" the gypsy driver told us.
