She tilted her head to look at his side profile. He was not just saying it to make her shut up; he really meant it.
She was confused when she tried to analyze it. "What's wrong with me being a demoness? You are a demon and it's alright."
"You will no longer be a demigoddess." He replied, like it should mean something. She still didn't understand what was so bad about it.
"Would your feelings for me change if I wasn't a demigoddess?" She asked the obvious. It was certain that he didn't care what kind of creature his mate was, or he would never have accepted a demigoddess when his first mate was a goddess.
As expected, he shook his head. "Of course not. You could be a low-ranking underworld monster for all I care and I'd still love you. I was worried that once you turned into a demoness, every deity would want to kill you. They wouldn't care that it's not your fault."
She ran her fingers gently through his stubble. "It wasn't your fault either."
