~~~(POV: Nathen Opal)~~~
~~~(Location: Jedi Temple, Tython)~~~

~~~(Time: 11 Years Ago)~~~
"Freak! You don't belong here! You're not one of us; you'll never become a Jedi! I don't even know why the Jedi took you in! You're nothing but a danger to the rest of the people here!"
One of the worst things about being a young and powerful Force-Sensitive is being verbally assaulted by those older than you. Given that I'm almost 10 years old, and I've been the subject of scrutiny by many.
Especially by those in my clan and those that are older than me. I was just trying to enjoy some food before morning classes start, but Initiate Lark has decided to ruin my morning.
He's 2 years older than I am and is one of the more skilled Initiates in the Order. My eyes are resting on Lark and his group of friends. They're all staring at me with a particular brand of loathing. Usually, a Master steps in right now.
But there are none in the cafeteria today, which is strange on many levels. I've never seen them leave us initiates unattended for more than a minute.
"Just leave me alone, Lark. It's the start of the day, and I'm not in the mood to deal with you."
Master Caleb has told me on many occasions that I must get along with my fellow Initiates and learn to adapt to their personalities. Given that I wasn't raised in the Order, I must be the one to adjust to the others.
Most of the time, it doesn't bother me. But Lark is one of the people that know how to push my buttons. My weak points. I only have one. And that's my parents. I miss them a lot, and there are times I wish I could leave and head back to them.
Lark knows this, and he uses it to get a rise out of me. But only when he knows he won't get in trouble.
"What's the matter, Opal? Missing your Mommy's milk?"
What the fark did he just say...
His friends start to laugh, and slowly some others around not involved start to laugh too. He's made fun of my parents before. But never so disgustingly disrespectfully.
I stand up and stare at the boy.
"What? You going to do something about it?"
His voice gets way more hostile, and he stands up at the same time I do. I'm trying my best to exercise control here, but I feel it slipping.
As the second's pass, the world slows down for me. A light rumbling and shaking envelope the cafeteria.
The expression on Lark's face turns from one of hostility and anger to one of worry and fear. And seeing that look is what causes me to bring control back in. Seeing that I've regained control, he smirks just a little.
I turn to leave, and as I'm walking away. Something is thrown at me from behind, but it never reaches me. I turn to see a metal plate floating behind my head.
The Force protects me like this.
Lark is looking at me with victory.
The smugness... The arrogance... I've had enough...
In the blink of an eye, I throw my arms out and unleash The Force in all directions. Throwing tables, chairs, people, and droids against the walls.
I'm standing in the center of the empty cafeteria as everything is against the walls and ceiling. All of a sudden, the doors to the room bust open, and several Masters come in.
"Initiate Opal! Cease hostility at once! These are your fellow students!"
A nameless Master tries to give me orders. This is what Lark wanted. A reaction. Now he's going to get one.
"Stay out of this!"
With a throw of my hand, the Masters are sent out of the door they came in through, and I close it behind them. Keeping it closed with The Force.
I stop channeling The Force, and everything falls to the ground. There are groans of pain as people rise from the rubble. I locate Lark and pull him out from some tables. Holding him in front of me. But as our eyes lock, I see nothing but a scared child.
I look around and see all the damage I caused, and all the people I hurt...
He's right...
I'm a freak...
My powers lash out according to my will, and a wall is broken to pieces leading outside the Temple. I leap from it and run toward the forests of Tython.
