Javuj_Patel Whats happening to webnovel. Once upon a time, I looked forward to my Fridays because of the great books that came out every week. As time passed, the quality dropped slowly, but as Webnovel already had all the good books, this was understable. At some point the gems will run out, and you will have to wait for new ones to be made. But nowadays, the quality of the books webnovel are putting out every week are absolute trash. Absolute garbage. mindless plots, tropes and cliches that have been recycled a thousand times over. I would have to go back months to find a batch of books that had a character with the slightest depth to it. Please Webnovel, give us some good books.
Let me start by saying that I read to chapter 140~ before dropping this book. So it has good points, but also bad points. The overall premise is a little generic (I've seen quite a few other books here on Webnovel with this "Earthlings decent to another world and have to build bases" premise) but I feel like this one stands out from the crowd. In many similar novels, the MCs never seem to have any goals, and they go 100+ chapters without focusing on anything except base building. Often, it will be 100 chapters+ before they ever meet another human face to face. This novel is not like that. The MC, Lin Ye, is very driven. He wants to be king of this new world, and it only takes him a few chapters to start using his cheat to move out and conquer nearby territories and fight his fellow "players". Some of which he kills (although only in "self-defense") and most of which he drags back to work for him. So the MC quickly begins interacting with other characters very early in the story, which is nice since it isn't just a non-stop stream of internal monologues like in some books. And as MC expands his territory we, the readers and the MC both, slowly start learning some of the secrets of the world. It's clear that the author has put effort into creating a comprehensive background setting to be slowly unraveled and explored, which is obviously a huge plus for the book. (To put it briefly, the world MC has descended into has a cycle of other-world humans descending and fighting the zombies, but they lose every time. Meanwhile, there are natives who live underground to hide from the zombies that MC and the other players can summon to fight for them, but the loyalty of the natives is questionable. They obviously have their own goals despite fighting for the humans, and they can also betray or defect if their human "Lords" mistreat them badly enough or give them impossible tasks.) So the MC is motivated and actively uses his cheat to summon troops to expand and conquer, the setting is deep and has room to be explored, what's the problem? Why did I only give 3 stars? The answer is simple: The pace at which time passes in this book relative to the number of chapters is absolutely glacial. At chapter 140, it's still only been 3 days in-universe since the book began. It feels absurd and really strains credulity, especially when you factor in the loyalty system of the natives (by day 3, every single native in MCs camp has been won over to 100% loyalty? wat). And when his troops go through multiple upgrades in both equipment and personal power level in a single day, but each time there needs to be a whole chapter talking about how amazed they all are and how much more loyal they are now since MC gave them this "amazing gift"... these scenes are slightly undercut when you remember that this is the third, or fourth, or fifth, "amazing gift" the MC has given them THAT DAY. In short, it really feels like the author had some sort of plot outline written beforehand, and in that outline, it said "MC will accomplish 'X' before the first zombie wave at the 1-week mark" and then just religiously stuck to that - writing tens of chapters about base building, territory expansion, troop recruitment, etc... but not letting time advance at all for fear of breaking the pre-established outline. (Note: this is purely my guess. I just can't think of any other reason why three days would be split into 140 chapters, even when it clearly causes certain parts of the book to not make much sense.) And the final negative point: MCs cheat really pads the word count. Every time he gets a reward, he gets three options to choose from and many times all three options are described in detail despite MC only choosing one of them. Moreover, with the pacing of the book, some super-duper-amazing treasure that MC or his troops are drooling over will be worthless garbage in 30 chapters, which is actually only 2 hours later in-universe time, so again there's the issue where credulity is strained. I mean, how many times could MC and the troops realitically get worked up over a new sword or bow or whatever in a single day before it stopped being shocking or noteworthy? Maybe they can get excited but I, as the reader, really can't. There are entire chapters dedicated solely to MC opening chests and replacing his "Sword of +1" with a "Sword of +2", which will then be replaced with a "Sword of +3" a dozen chapters later... but each time a bunch of words are wasted talking about how amazing and impressive the loot is... and it's boring. I ended up skimming a lot. Still, despite those drawbacks, I think I would recommend this book overall. Of course, only if you like this power fantasy kingdom-builder genre.
The best , very funny and nice history. The principal is very funny , it's the history more original that I read for a long time. I had to stop reading a chapter 22 the MC is complete and utter moron who just wants to become a tyrant He has no redeeming qualities And is arrogant beyond belief leave instead of working with somebody who could be a great ally instead he tries to tear them down
similar to lord of the people/a hundrd fold system. the difference is, the mc here is stupid no sense of direction compare to that novel. .
This is the worst MC I've ever had the disdain to read, just plain disgusting, he's dumb, greedy, makes wrong decisions, cowardly and treats subordinates badly, basically a young master tyrant
This started off with a bang and kept going…yes mc is op but it still reads well and doesn’ let up. Numbers get kind of confusing tracking it at times but I don’t get caught up in that. Check this one out! Keep up the translation

Actually, this is good novel with mc being "super petty" and there is no "real" death(didn't state that they will return but has more possibilities) happening for "real" humans. It is a light hearted novel and you can read with empty mind(though there is no dumb plotholes which can criticize) Mc's character is revealed in layers, has mature mentality which is not shown in early chapters. Idk why people ignore this,but there is novel with something like x10000 reward, which will make you understand the reason why this one is actually great. The only drawback is for 210 chapters only 6 days have gone by. This is not a serious business type novel instead a light hearted(with killing though it is not serious type,more like game than reality) level up novel. MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THERE IS ZERO HAREM TILL NOW(210 ch). (Mc is a Lord with more male than female population)
The MC does not think before he acts. For example when he in having a feast with 400+ workers and chefs on the first day. the MC is brainless.

As expected of a chinese novel full of propaganda and almost everytime the mc personality is just trash with no morality bunch of cowards and whats funny is that when other behave like the mc iits wrong. all in all iits just stupid.

Honestly it starts off a pretty good read. However slowly the MC becomes unbearably arrogant and down right ignorant. It was tolerable for the most part because the story and world were interesting while the MCs goldenfinger was op. However then came chapter 95…. Where that Ultranationalist China#1 attitude comes in full swing and as a foreign reader who for the most part was enjoying the novel. whelp it was a slap to the face and a gut punch to boot. MC down right insults everyone who isn’t chinese and I get he’s called petty as a character trait but xenophobia isn’t a trait you should give a character in a story that will have international readers. It hurts the story and the authors credibility. Don’t know about the other international readers but im disappointed with this “screw the foreigners we’re the best”attitude from Chinese authors so I for one will be dropping. Plenty of novels out there that skips the propaganda so im out🤷🏻♂️👌

This is awesome.. I'm currently at chapter 29 it has successfully thoroughly made me dislike the MC. MC is a narcissist. Well that's fine and all, but he is also arrogant, self-centered, the "I'm right even if I'm wrong" type, and a hypocrite. Is it just that? No, out of 10 decision he made, at least 8 of them are very very questionable. I'm a sucker for OP MCs, but it still took my all not to curse at MC at every other paragraph. Ugh.. I'll try reading some more in hope he's getting a good character development. And no, no need to roast me or anything since this is just my personal opinion and everyone has their own preferences.
The MC is really irritating for me. The writing quality... a bit better than some of the poor novels that can't be comprehended, like trashy repeat chapter TLs. Overall cliche generic personality as well as novel content. The personality is giving me the vibe for all of the novels hitting the translation list. Please give better novels. 😭
This was cool, and the inportance of the "main character" was cool. But, it took the china numba 1 route of development. I don't know what else to say, but i think it has some potentential for the OP mc archetype, too bad blatant racism wins.

It's a good novel to read to pass the time if you can ignore all the bad decision that "somehow" work out later and of course the racism. It starts good enough but little by little it gets worse. How you ask? Here's a quote from ch 85 referring to the word "punchline" (i read it on another site, no way I'm spending passes on it): "Don’t you have a more cultured way of speaking… China is vast and profound with deep cultural roots. There’s always more for you to learn. Why must you learn from the dregs of other races?” So yeah... brain off for this one. (●__●)
Have you ever read one of the many, many novels where the whole population of Earth is suddenly transported into a survival video game like world and thought "This is okay but what if the MC was human garbage? The kind of human garbage that is usually one of the minor villains in any other story. That would be fun!" Then you are in luck because this is the story for you! Follow along with the MC on this journey. He goes from a regular college student to a mostly irredeemable human being. At least by the end of the free chapters. I'm not reading past that. If you are the kind of person that thinks that the strong should exploit the weak then you might like it. MC doesn't d o anything to horrible overall but it's like reading the rise of a mob boss without any charisma. "I've never disliked an MC more!" raves this reviewer!

It's a good novel to read to pass the time if you can ignore all the bad decision that "somehow" work out later and of course the racism. It starts good enough but little by little it gets worse. How you ask? Here's a quote from ch 85 referring to the word "punchline" (i read it on another site, no way I'm spending passes on it): "Don’t you have a more cultured way of speaking… China is vast and profound with deep cultural roots. There’s always more for you to learn. Why must you learn from the dregs of other races?” So yeah... brain off for this one. (●__●)
Have you ever read one of the many, many novels where the whole population of Earth is suddenly transported into a survival video game like world and thought "This is okay but what if the MC was human garbage? The kind of human garbage that is usually one of the minor villains in any other story. That would be fun!" Then you are in luck because this is the story for you! Follow along with the MC on this journey. He goes from a regular college student to a mostly irredeemable human being. At least by the end of the free chapters. I'm not reading past that. If you are the kind of person that thinks that the strong should exploit the weak then you might like it. MC doesn't d o anything to horrible overall but it's like reading the rise of a mob boss without any charisma. "I've never disliked an MC more!" raves this reviewer!
