The room slowly filled out, leaving three people behind. Shahzad could feel the curse take effect as the searing pain spread across his body. He clenched his fist and bit hard against his tongue to keep the scream in.

Fiona watched with Amara looking on in pain. She was truly in love with Shahzad. She was hopeful until the night Shahzad showed up at her place with her mother's letter.

Having the leverage he had in his hand, he had presented it to her. To her horror and utter dismay, it was a cold slap back to reality from the fairy tale she had created.
