Amira read through the scroll whose content she has already memorized. The first time she took it from her mother, her hands were shaking as her eyes watered. It was a letter from her prince.

The man who gave her sleepless nights. Reading his letter had triggered the primal flight reaction or something like it. a massive flood of adrenaline shot through her body like a drug and made her feel deeply alive.

Only he could do that to her through a single letter. She was excited and anxious all at once. Khalid was going to visit her home. In the letter, he indicated that he was just exploring but they both knew that wasn't the case.

Maybe he was afraid of his letter being intercepted by the enemy. Maybe he didn't want to give off too much information. Then her excitement turned into fear.
