It was in the afternoon. On a car ride to who knows where. The atmosphere was orangey yellow, like rust. But it smelled like lavender.
There were three people in the car. My father, me, and Sophee.
For some insight, Sophee was my neighbor. She was my age, and we'd known each other for a year. She moved to my school the year we met each other. I barely remember much of it, but I have a few memories.
Sophee had always been in honors classes from then forward. I was in the normal classes. I met my first friend in kindergarten, her name was Ava. However, ever since kindergarten we've always been in different classes.
I met Ava the very first day of kindergarten. During a story time, she got my attention and said "I'm Ava! What's your name?" As the years went by, we had gotten to be very good friends. But that's besides the point right now.
Right now, I'm interested in this ad I received while in the middle of playing a video game on my tablet. The ad told me about a game. Minecraft. I watched and as it explained what Minecraft was, I realized a bunch of kids for school played the game as well. I got an idea.
"Hey dad, can I get this game? It's called Minecraft!"
My father glanced at me through his overhead mirror attached to the roof of the car. "Does it cost any money?"
I clicked on the link to get the app and as the screen loaded on the App Store I tapped my finger on my knee hoping it didn't.
When the App Store loaded I looked down. "It costs $6.99."
My father sat in silence and slowly said "We'll see."
The rest of the day was a blur. All I remember thinking about was to get Minecraft. I remember getting home and my father telling me to give him my device. When he handed it back, I was intrigued by the moving picture in my screen. I looked up at the title of the game and it read 'Minecraft'. I was so excited I spent the rest of the night playing.
About half a year passed and I kept getting this notification to create a Minecraft account to play on Xbox Live. I, at the time, was at my mother's house. I went down and asked her what it meant. She said it had meant to create an online account to play with people around the world over the internet. I asked her if I could create the account and she warned me of the dangers. However, we spent the next 1 or 2 hours setting up my account. When we figured it out, my mother handed me the device to set up the details such as the username and the profile picture.
I didn't know what it meant, so I ended up clicking "Next" before setting up my username. Because of this, it chose a random name. I chose a random profile picture and looked at my account. My name was QuirkySiren905. I logged into a "server" since I had never seen them before. While I was there I met a girl. Her name was BellaThePanda99. And that's where everything began.
