Chapitre 33: Chapter 33: Foolishness of the Youth

"What population controls?! The ones that are currently dying are human beings that can think and feel! You don't know how horrible it is to have someone you care about to die!"

Nath's voice resounded in the Hunter Department. It stirred some people's emotions but.... that was all it. These people know what fate they would have if they try to help. Instead of getting praised, they would just have a tougher life

Seeing Nath running desperately to save people that he doesn't even know, Keon raises his head with a profound look on his face

"Gabe, Mady, you know things that I don't know. Say, do you think if I become kind, I will have a smoother path?" The helplessness and tiredness in his voice puzzled the two but they still gave him an honest answer

"A lot of kind people dies early, and a lot of bad people live longer" Gabe answered and Keon can only shake his head at that

Ever since he was young, Keon always saw and think things more negatively. He always acted so kindly towards other people because he knows that it will benefit him

But now.... the weakening points in the barrier were actually used by the government for population control. Then doesn't that mean the trauma that Keon got was all part of that population control?

Keon feels that his father is stupid. If he just takes his wife and daughter to safety, he might not die. But he just has to be that 'good person', and in the end, it cost him his life

Keon always knows that the government is not kind but to think they are actually this bad. Now, the question of why humanity is still not overpopulated with just their four realms is answered

There are a lot of Hunters but compared to the overall human population, they are almost nothing. The thing that is really preventing humanity from having too much population is the weak points in the barrier itself

With so many Hunters, Researchers, and Military officers even just in a single City, why is it that only the Police were task to kill the monsters and protect the civilians?

If professional mystics aside from the Police can freely intervene, the number of deaths the monsters will cause would be much lower. But the government can't let the monsters kill too few people as in time, that will result in overpopulation

Keon understands the reason and the logic for that. He won't be a hypocrite, if Keon is one of the higher-ups, he will also plan something like that. However, he is currently looking at the situation in the eyes of the weak and this made him feel some resentment

The trauma and death of two people that were supposed to give him warmth and love died to prevent overpopulation. Suddenly, the four realms of humanity that are in no way small felt like a cage for Keon. A cage that has limited capacity and the people inside needs to do cruel things to prevent the cage from reaching its full capacity

"Then... base from the things you know, that means instead of being a person like Nath, it would be better if I have a steel heart, right?" Keon asked and the two nodded

Keon took a deep breath and closes his eyes to calm his nerves. When he opened his eyes again, the light in them was different than before

"This world... is darker than I thought. If I will become a man with a cold heart in the future it wouldn't be bad if I let some warmth flow in my heart, for now, right?"

Keon is still weak and a nobody. But he felt that the future him would be different especially with the way Mady and Gabe are acting

Since he is still young and foolish, at least let him enjoy the foolishness of his youth

"Let's go, we will help Nath"

Since Keon might become something he can't recognize anymore in the future then let him do something for the person that he treats as his friend

Exiting the Hunter Department, Keon saw a chaotic hole not so far from him. From it, monsters poured out and Keon immediately charges in the hole's direction

Fortunately, it wasn't that far and since he already injected a Level 2 Body Serum last night, his physique was much better before. Even after running at a fast speed for minutes, he hasn't felt the least bit tired

When Keon is near the weak point, he saw flashes of white light here and there. He knew that it came from his friend and just as he thought, he saw Nath dancing around on the battlefield

Corpses from both monsters and humans piled in the ground and the smell of blood in the air were particularly striking

The Police haven't even arrived yet. If the Hunters decides to help the civilians, not these many people would die

While shaking his head, Keon started his foolish action and a sword appeared in his hand

Keon sticks a card in his and Nath's body to increase their speed. Without even looking at the source of the card, Nath already knows that his friends arrive

Nath wants to thank Keon but his eyes can currently only see red. People around him are dying no matter how many monsters he killed

With the morale Nath gained from Keon's presence, his body exploded with power again. Above him were ten large swords made from light

Nath slashed the monsters with the swords in his hands but the swords above him acted as if they have their own eyes and targeted the monsters that were about to kill civilians

This Nath... the way he easily uses spiral power is really unbelievable

Keon was also affected by Nath's actions and inside his Cube Word, the spiritual materialization of his card abilities undergo a sudden change

The blank card absorbs power from the River of Possibilities and it was finally upgraded into an Advanced-Grade Mystic Form

Keon sticks his upgraded cards to his sword and it perfectly blended in it. The sword turned longer and an intense fire that causes the surrounding temperature to rise coated it

Keon's body flash and reach a monster that has some resemblance to a dog

With an angered sword strike, Keon managed to cut the dog in half. The smell of charred flesh wafted in the air and it mixed with the smell of blood

The mixture of these two causes Keon's eyes to turn bloodshot. Unknowingly to Keon, due to his current state of emotion, the immense killing intent that Kreon has was silently flowing in him. With this, Kreon would have a bit more control over their body again

Kreon and Nath, the two best friends beautifully danced on the battlefield with their swords. Everywhere they go, there would surely be monsters that will die from their swords

The two completely ignored whether the monsters are Level 1, 2, or 3. It doesn't even matter, these monsters would still die

The two killed a lot of monsters with power that they don't normally have but the hole in the barrier is still present and suddenly, a monster which has an aura stronger than the other monsters appeared

It was also a Level 3 creatures but its power is surely superior to normal Level 3 creatures

The monster is a bipedal creature that has a sharp mouth and a long tongue. At the end of its arms were six sharp shaped fingers and it has a long tail on its back

Every part of this monster screamed with power and lethality as if it can use everything that it has as a weapon

"Ma- Keon, watch out, that is a Kusha Beast!" Gabe warned but Keon was already too affected by his fighting intent. All he wants to do now is to kill these monsters

Nath and Keon completely ignored the danger and both of them darted towards this new monster

Keon sticks two more cards in his sword and it grew even bigger. One card has the wind element that increased the blazing fire's size and the other card let out flashes of electricity

When Keon was holding his sword, it even reaches above his head and the three elements in it were raging

On the other hand, Nath summoned his ten swords back to himself and combined them

Nath doesn't have the ability to combine ten swords yet but from the ten swords, only 4 remained that packed a lot more power

The Kusha Beast sensed the threat from the two and it shot its tongue towards the large light swords that Nath made

Before the beast's tongue can reach the light swords, it solidified into a thick metal tongue. It was originally made from blood and flesh but it suddenly turned into a metal tongue

Clang clang clang

Despite the great power that Nath's sword holds, they were still deflected by the Kusha Beast albeit the beast's tongue also got damage

As for Keon, he uses his raging sword to attack but the beast swiped its tail at him. The tail also metalized and Keon was met with a hard resistance when he tried to cut off the beast's tail
