Charlus appeared in the Flamel Manor.
"Good morning teacher." He greeted his teacher.
"Good morning Charlus. Get your luggage to your room. Take some rest. We will have lunch and then figure out our plans for the next three months."
Charlus was familiar with the Manor after being there for three months. He went to his room and dumped his luggage. He went to the restroom and freshened up. He hadn't bathed that day yet and decided to then.
Lunch came quickly. Charlus sat opposite Nicholas at the table. He ate his lunch quickly and waited in silence for Nicholas to finish.
After Nicholas finished, he started speaking.
"Charlus, last year we focused on theory. You are now maybe two-three years ahead of your peers. However, this year, we will start narrowing your focus. You will learn all the subjects till your OWLs. After that, you have to pick. You have to pick which subjects you choose to specialize in. With this, we can finally start on the practical aspect of magic. You should learn how to use what you learnt. The first one months will be like last year. After that, there will be minor modifications to our schedule. We will spend the same time we spend normally in the space, but in the space, we will be able to use spells and practice them. They will be simple simulations, so your actual body will not be the one casting the spells. However, since your body will be replicated in the space, you will have the same experience inside as outside."
Charlus became excited when he heard that he would learn to use magic.
"When are we starting?"
"Today, at 3. If you have anything better to do, feel free. I don't think you'll find one here though."
Charlus nodded.
"Okay. I will be there on time."
Charlus left the table and went to his room. He quickly got into a pair of shorts and a loose shirt. This was the outfit recommended by his teacher as it let air cool down his entire body. He then waited till the time was 3. After that, he went to the second floor and saw his teacher there. He sat in front of him and waited for his lesson to begin.

Over the next four weeks, Charlus was able to learn the necessary information for the OWLs for all the subjects he would be taking. That included Herbology, Potions, Dueling, Transfiguration, Alchemy, Runes and Charms. He was so prepared that he would get an EE in everything. If he wanted to get an O, he would have to revise everything properly.
After the first 4 weeks, Charlus could finally start practising his magic. The subjects he opted for were the ones that would help him the most when it came to battle. He took Dueling, Charms and Transfiguration. Alongside this, his teacher allocated 2 hours a day in Charlus' schedule for Occlumency. Occlumency was an art used to have complete control over one's mind. Once properly mastered, he would be able to control all of his emotions and not show them to anyone without his intention. According to Flamel, there was an art called Legilmency that allowed people to look into people's mind without their consent. This, while considered illegal, was not properly controlled. Most of the big families had the art in their possession. Occlumency, according to Nicholas Flamel, was the best defence against Legilmency.
Charlus started focusing on duelling too. He was able to perform all the spells he learnt with ease. The important part, however, was actually using them in a duel. His day was entirely focused on the two segments of his training - Occlumency and Duelling. Both were arts that could only be learnt with tremendous amounts of practice.

"Charlus," Nicholas Flamel called out. "You have a gift. According to you, you can see magic as threads that come out from a wand and reside in your body. This will be insignificant at first, but your greatest advantage in the future. If I am not wrong, every spell uses magic differently. This means that you should be able to see how the magic looks like. If you are familiar with how a spell makes magic look like, you can know which spell someone is performing. Students learn how to non verbally cast their spells in their NEWT years. At this time, you will be able to see what spell they are going to use and they won't know that you have this advantage. You have to be able to use this to your advantage as much as you can. To do that, you have to get familiar with every kind of spell."
Charlus nodded and added that to his to-do list.
